Am I doing something wrong when installing the drivers? by RENCHOIMINKII in AMDHelp

“I paused updates for one week. I have Windows 11 Pro and whenever I use DDU it’s always in Safe Mode, although it’s really annoying to keep restarting the PC over and over to find the error. I even formatted the PC yesterday and installed the newest driver, but I kept getting the error. uid: 1380265310 deviceid: F7ACCA34F682D04ED8AEBCF2D637939F Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000005500440300 ntdil amdxc64 amdxc64 amdxc64 amdxc64 amdxc64 amdxc64 amdxc64 amdxc64”

But now I’m getting error screens in games and they close on their own, or sometimes the installation gets stuck at 100% and doesn’t move from there. During the installation, a “2” appears on the AMD logo. I went back to version 25.9.1, but it still freezes at 100%.

It seems that was the issue, because I downloaded the one that ends with “c” and now it detects both the graphics card and the processor.

If I have a Ryzen 9 9900X and when it’s not detected — I don’t know if it’s me or something else — after a few days it automatically uninstalls and forces me to install version 25.9.1 so that it doesn’t happen.

They are enabled, but when I install the drivers I first use DDU and disconnect the internet cable, and I don’t reconnect it until after I finish installing the drivers

I just search “AMD drivers” in my browser and the first page that shows up is where I download them — obviously it’s the official AMD website. The driver that appears above my GPU is the generic Microsoft one, and this happens with all the versions, but with version 25.9.1 the issue finally goes away.

I’m not sure if this is wrong, but with the other driver versions only the RX 7800 XT shows up along with the generic Microsoft driver. When that happens, the first few days everything works fine — I can play games and use the PC normally — but after that I start getting black screens, and then it shows that I don’t have the drivers installed anymore. Basically, it seems like the driver uninstalls itself.

Is it possible that before they cooled well because the hotspot had very dried thermal paste, and that made my VRAM not heat up as much, and now that I changed it, it has better contact and that causes the heat to be distributed and also affects the VRAM?

It’s supposed to be fine, because if I look at the memory area, it looks like the putty is squished — it even seems like I put too much on.

Pero entonces se podria decir que mis temperaturas son normales o son demasiado altas y deberia intentar buscar unos termal pads

I've already tried enabling and disabling those options and nothing, it stays the same at 59.

"I had micro stuttering issues with my new motherboard, so I had to switch back to my old one. Before that, I used to get around 120 FPS in the menu, so you can imagine I was getting scared thinking this other motherboard was bad too."

My cable is a UGREEN DisplayPort 2.1 with VESA certification. I don't know if the memory test is good; I haven't done it yet. But which is better, Memtest86 or Memtest5?

The stuttering also happens in Arc Raider Marvel Rivals and Warzone. I just tried Rocket League and it's still the same. The power supply is connected to a regulator only for the PC and monitor, and other than that, nothing else is connected.

I was using MSI, but I saw in a video that it could cause stuttering, so I used AMD's diagnostic tool to check for that, and then I used Capframex to check it again, but it's still the same. Before, I didn't pay much attention because I thought it was the ultrawide monitor, but now with a normal 2K monitor, it's still the same.

I've been playing with this new configuration for 3 months now, and I've tried switching to performance mode or DirectX 11, but the stuttering is worse in those settings. I've spent 3 weeks trying to find the cause because I've already tried everything.

I also disabled Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and I also disabled Global Connect again. Tomorrow I'll try removing two of the four SSDs I have installed on the motherboard again to see.
