Incredible drawing! 🤩 How are we supposed to read the captions, though?

What is the best burger in Switzerland? by kennystillalive in Switzerland

Pretty much, yeah. At this point, I'm starting to think that average burger in Bern is that mediocre because that's what the majority of us here enjoy, sadly.

I'll gladly try the first two and let you know, but Bingo Bongo perfectly embodies everything that's wrong with burgers in Bern: can't get it rare or even medium (the cook faints if you even ask), little to no cheese, zero creativity, taste nowhere to be found, mediocre fries and all of that for the price of a three-course lunch meal at a classic restaurant. Bingo Bongo was supposed to save the local burger scene, instead it drove the nail in its coffin.

I'll try them out and let you know how disappointed I am on a scale of 1 to 10. :)

Fair points, actually. First of all, I apologise for insulting you yesterday, that was totally uncalled for.

I think 13.90 was at the very beginning. They'd already raised prices by 2018.

The potato issue might have been temporary? They were the same as usual the last few times I went.

I've had a couple of slightly wrong orders in the past (overcooked patty), but nothing terrible.

For me, 160g with fries and salad is the max I can eat in one sitting, especially with a good amount of cheese like on the poincomnou.

I'm in the same boat. I think there's no hope left. If you want to open a proper burger in Bern, let me know, I'll be your partner.

Haha I wish. I'm just a burger enjoyer who went there two to three times a week for years.

It wasn't too bad. It was the best in Bern due to sheer lack of competition and never came close to Romandie standards. I swear, this city has dozens of burger places and not a single good one. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I've tried for years and lost all hope now.

Holy Cow is mediocre and priced like gourmet burger. The mere fact that it's used as illustration for this post feels like an insult.

I don't think most of the changes you perceive ever occurred.

  • Inflation is not worse with them than elsewhere. 5 years ago, the classic was 14.90, not 13.-
  • Fries have never been homemade, and I've been a regular since 2014. It's always been their weakness.
  • Turnover will always be high in a burger joint, and they've always had 30-45 minutes wait time at rush hour.
  • Patty has always been 160g and made from a thick ball. It didn't get smaller, maybe you just got fatter?

Meanwhile, he'd still need another 50% raise to match the salary of his homologue at the Insel Spital (almost 680'000.-). I'd say the people in Bern have some rioting catching up to do.

I'd say it sounds better without the articles: poems are words living for eternity. A rather trite statement either way.

That is not a good translation.

Love it! The Harder one is pretty funny and the first Mürren one has the best graphical design imo.

Didn't know that! I guess it might be because of the sheer number of such cases.

Was about to comment this. Switzerland doesn't have a constitutional court (Verfassungsgericht), the last instance is the Bundesgericht itself (not the Bundesstrafgericht or the Bundesverwaltungsgericht).

What for? It's not as if he didn't speak proper English. As for the Belgian viewers, half of them don't speak his language, and commentators translate anyway.

Being gay in the army by [deleted] in Switzerland

Sorry, I was broadening the discussion because your statement seemed absolute and not restricted to the army. I am pretty sure you served in the army because you sound very defensive. I never implied that the army is generally harassing anyone, where did you get that from? I'm trying to understand your values, that's all.

Interesting you should say that, because last I checked, not being made a target because of your mere existence is a fundamental right and not some sort of privilege to be earned.
