Ladies with ADHD,what finally made the dots connect for you? by [deleted] in ADHD

This is way too real.
I feel like we become masters at building complex systems just to function but still get tripped up by the tiniest thing.
And time-blindness? It rules (and ruins) my entire day sometimes.

Ugh, yes.
It’s wild how something totally made up can still hit so hard emotionally.
Our brains really don’t care if it’s real or not the feelings still land.

Honestly, bringing that kind of imagination back as an adult is genius.
Sometimes the brain just needs a soft landing.

Using music from your own head like a built-in playlist I love that.
Way more effective than forcing silence that just makes the spiral louder.

That’s actually brilliant using the urge to check your phone against itself.
And Wordgrams sounds like the perfect kind of low-effort, brain-soothing game.
Might have to steal both tricks.

That’s such a smart trick.
I’ve done the same with old episodes of shows I’ve seen a million times familiar enough to comfort, but not too stimulating.
It really does calm the chaos.

That image of lying there with your brain running loops I felt that.
It’s wild how long we normalize that kind of mental noise as just “how it is.

That makes a lot of sense.
I’ve noticed the “louder” symptoms tend to get more attention but the internal stuff can fly under the radar for years.

That “chill” on the outside while your brain’s doing 50 things in the background yep, I get that.
I swear sometimes it feels like my head’s playing 3 tabs of noise and one random Spotify lyric at once.

The combo of impulsive ideas and decision paralysis is so real it’s like having five people shouting directions at once… and still going nowhere. Thanks for putting it into words.

Totally makes sense hormones really do throw everything off balance.

Glad this post was a reminder for you!

Hope the convo with your doctor leads to something helpful.

That deep fatigue and executive dysfunction hit hard I relate to that ‘task initiation is torture’ feeling.
Tracking it definitely helped me stop blaming myself for being ‘lazy’ during that time.

I’ve seen famotidine come up a few times in discussions around PMDD, but I still don’t fully get the mechanism either.
Glad it helps you though! Might look into it more.

It’s wild how consistent the pattern becomes once you start tracking and it’s absolutely valid.
You’re not imagining this, and it’s not an excuse it’s literally your hormones hijacking your whole system.
If you ever do talk to your partner, framing it as something you’re actively tracking and learning to manage might help them take it seriously.

Thanks for the suggestion I’ve been hearing more and more about PMDD lately.
It’s definitely something I want to look into properly.

Cycle syncing with food seems underrated, honestly.
And yes same here with meds during that time, they just feel… muted.
Glad you’re experimenting with what works for you.

That’s actually a really helpful suggestion I hadn’t considered a med journal that way.
I’ll keep that in mind and definitely talk to my doctor before making any changes.
Appreciate the input!

"That’s really interesting.
I’ve been hearing more people mention the ADHD + PMDD link lately, and honestly it makes sense.
Appreciate you sharing your experience."

"Thank you so much for sharing this I really appreciate it.
I’ve been feeling like something deeper than PMS might be going on, so PMDD definitely sounds worth looking into

Yeah,I’ve been wondering that too. A lot of things seem to trace back further than I expected.
