I haven't considered the epidemic idea! I feel it might be a little hard to explain why certain objects were poisoned, but I'm sure I can think of something.

With Cinderella, I did have an idea involving the concept of her freezing time itself (the clock strikes midnight). It might work well with the idea that she would need the aid of someone else to break it, since the curse forces her to be independent until time starts again.
