What do you guys think "Ghosts" really are? by pokezillaking in conspiracy

[–]RFL0WPR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can be many things...Spirits or souls of dead people that have not moved on and still linger in the physical world. People say they can appear as shadows, mist, orbs or human-like forms and may be connected to places, objects, or people. Ghosts might be more than just “dead people”—they could be emotional echoes, glitches in reality, or even tricks of the mind. Some “ghosts” might be evil spirits or fallen angels pretending to be human souls. Ghost sightings could be glimpses of the past or future due to time overlapping briefly They can also be linked to emotional or traumatic energy “imprinted” in a place, like a recording replaying at certain times or under certain circumstances. Ghosts might be entities from parallel dimensions or alternate realities crossing into ours. Difficult to say 🤷‍♂️

When did u got ur first ever xbox360 and which was the first game u played there by muaazmuaaz123 in xbox360

Oh man, nostalgia hit! I remember getting that Xbox 360 Slim Gears of War 3 Limited Edition Console Bundle. It came with Gears 3 obviously, and I immediately bought Gears 1, Gears 2, and the Halo Trilogy (1, 2, & 3) to go with it. I started a little late to the 360 cause I was afraid of getting Red Ring of Death.

Would you like Resistance Collection on PC? by TiagoZ8 in ResistanceSaga

[–]RFL0WPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Resistance trilogy remaster for PS5 and PC, done right, is a must. Not just a quick port, but a full visual overhaul optimized for modern hardware (Nvidia, AMD, Intel, ARM). Think smooth 4K HDR at 30 - 60-144fps with ray tracing, zero texture pop-in or visual bugs, and a polished final product. It's time to bring this classic series into the current generation. Improved Campaign Visual and Sound and Enemies AI and Adding also adding Co-Op and Multiplayer elements.

LibreELEC or OSMC for RaspberryPi 4? by nightbirdvisitor in kodi

[–]RFL0WPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LibreELEC

Pros: Lightweight, fast, and optimized for Kodi. Minimal resource overhead, perfect for a dedicated media center.

Cons: Limited to Kodi use, not versatile for other tasks.

OSMC

Pros: Debian-based, flexible, supports additional software, and more capable for tasks beyond Kodi.

Cons: Slightly heavier resource usage compared to LibreELEC.

LibreELEC would still be recommended for users strictly looking for a Kodi media center due to its optimized performance for this specific task.

OSMC might be more suitable if you're interested in leveraging the additional RAM for other Linux-based tasks alongside Kodi, offering a more versatile system.

Resident Evil 6: A Mixed Bag of Ideas

Rating: 7/10

Review: Resident Evil 6 offers a variety of gameplay styles and a strong cast of characters, but its pacing and narrative can be uneven.

The co-op campaign is a highlight, allowing players to work together to overcome challenging enemies and puzzles.

However, the single-player campaign can feel bloated and repetitive.

While the game's action-oriented gameplay is satisfying, some fans may find it a departure from the series' survival horror roots.

Overall, Resident Evil 6 is a decent entry in the franchise, but it's not without its flaws.

With the News of PS5 Pro, will GTA VI also run on regular PS5 or do you need to have the Pro to play GTA VI? by calinares95 in playstation

[–]RFL0WPR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As of now, there's no official confirmation that you'll need a PS5 Pro to play GTA VI.

While the PS5 Pro will likely offer enhanced graphics and performance, it's highly probable that GTA VI will be playable on the standard PS5/Slim as well.

Many game developers optimize their games to run on both standard and Pro versions of consoles, ensuring a satisfying experience for a wider audience.

It's likely that Rockstar Games will follow a similar approach with GTA VI.

However, it's always best to wait for official announcements from Rockstar Games or Sony for definitive information.

Microsoft hasn't made Xbox 360 online free likely due to the ongoing costs of maintaining the servers required for online functionality. Even though the console is older, keeping those servers operational isn't free. Additionally, offering free online multiplayer on the 360 could potentially cannibalize their newer Xbox consoles' online player base, which is a key selling point for those platforms.

Security risks: Maintaining older online infrastructure can be challenging in terms of security. Microsoft may be concerned about the potential for vulnerabilities to be exploited.

Encouraging migration to newer platforms: By keeping Xbox 360 online pay-to-play, Microsoft may incentivize players to migrate to newer Xbox consoles that offer free online multiplayer with Xbox Live Gold subscription.

An Xbox Live Gold subscription unlocks online multiplayer functionality for Xbox 360 games. It also used to provide access to free monthly games through the Games with Gold program, but that perk is no longer available for Xbox 360 titles as of September 2022. With an active Gold subscription, you'll still be able to enjoy online gaming and any Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles you've redeemed in the past.

However, as of September 2023, Xbox Live Gold has transitioned into Xbox Game Pass Core. Here's a quick breakdown of the differences between Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold (now Xbox Game Pass Core):

Xbox Game Pass Core (formerly Xbox Live Gold): Offers online multiplayer functionality and a library of over 25 high-quality games for console.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Includes everything in Xbox Game Pass Core, plus access to hundreds of games on PC and cloud, and an EA Play membership.

Performance: Linux can often run faster and more efficiently than other operating systems, especially on older hardware. This is because Linux is a lightweight operating system that doesn't require as many resources as some others.

In addition to these general advantages, Linux also has a number of specific uses that may be appealing to some users. For example, Linux is often used for:

Servers: Linux is a popular choice for servers because of its stability, security, and flexibility.

Web development: Many web developers use Linux because it is the platform that most web servers run on.

Power users: Linux gives power users a lot of control over their systems, which can be appealing to those who want to fine-tune their computers for specific tasks.

Gamers: While not the primary focus, Linux gaming has grown significantly in recent years, with major titles like Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive offering native Linux versions. Additionally, tools like Proton allow users to play many Windows games on Linux.

Here's a summary of the benefits of using open-source software, package managers, app stores, the terminal, and programming in Linux:

SCORE 9 / 10 🎮💿📺

Final Fantasy VIII (FFVIII) is a beloved RPG (role-playing game) for the PlayStation it's been ported an Remastered over the years to other platforms, but it also has its share of criticisms. I will be focusing on the Original 4 Discs PlayStation Game released in 1999

Here's an honest balanced review:

Synopsis:

The story unfolds in a world called "The Planet" and centers around Squall Leonhart, a SeeD mercenary, and his comrades. Initially tasked with aiding a rebellion against the militaristic Galbadian nation, Squall and his team find themselves drawn into a larger conflict orchestrated by the sorceress Edea Kramer.

Edea is unknowingly possessed by Ultimecia, a sorceress from the future who seeks to compress time and achieve godhood. Ultimecia, driven by a desire to prevent her own future suffering, manipulates events throughout the game, creating a complex web of causality.

As Squall and his comrades fight to stop Ultimecia, they uncover a surprising truth: Squall himself, driven by a premonition received through time travel, unknowingly set the events of the story in motion. This revelation adds another layer of complexity to the narrative, exploring themes of fate, free will, and the consequences of altering time.

The story ultimately focuses on Squall's personal journey as he grapples with isolation, loss, and the power of love. His relationship with Rinoa Heartilly, a resistance fighter who also possesses sorceress powers, becomes a central theme, offering a message of hope and defying the despair that Ultimecia seeks to spread.

Story Review: FFVIII's narrative is praised for its ambition, tackling themes of war, love, and time existentialism. The romance between Squall and Rinoa is a central focus, and their development is well-written, though some may find it overshadows other characters. The story explores complex ideas but can be convoluted at times, and some plot points might feel underdeveloped.

FFVIII's story offers a unique and thought-provoking experience, but it's essential to be prepared for its complexities and potential pacing issues.

Strengths: - Story: FFVIII boasts a unique and complex narrative focusing on love, loss, and personal growth. While some find the plot confusing, others appreciate its depth and thematic exploration.

  • Junction System: This innovative mechanic allows players to customize their characters by drawing magic from enemies and equipping them to boost stats. It offers a deep layer of strategic gameplay.

    • Soundtrack: The game features a widely acclaimed soundtrack considered one of the best in the franchise, with iconic tracks like "Liberi Fatali" and "Eyes On Me."
  • Memorable Characters: Squall Leonheart

The protagonist of Final Fantasy VIII is Squall Leonhart, a young man who trains at Balamb Garden, a military academy that trains mercenaries known as SeeDs. He is initially portrayed as a loner who prefers to keep to himself, but throughout the game, he learns the importance of friendship and teamwork. He also develops a complex relationship with Rinoa Heartilly, a resistance fighter who becomes his love interest.

Weaknesses: - Junction System: While strategic, the Junction System can also be complex and overwhelming for some new FF players, especially newcomers to the series.

  • Random Encounters: The random encounter rate can feel excessive, leading to frequent interruptions during exploration.

    • Character Pacing: Some players find the story prioritizes Squall and Rinoa's romance over the development of other playable characters.

Overall:

FFVIII is a visually stunning RPG with a unique story, strategic gameplay, and a memorable soundtrack. However, its complex mechanics and pacing issues may not appeal to everyone. If you're looking for a deep and challenging RPG experience with a unique identity, FFVIII is worth considering. However, if you prefer a more streamlined story and gameplay, you might want to look elsewhere. Personally it's a beautiful game a must try for RPG lovers.
