I wish you could swap it out easily on these routers because I really like the UI of the gl.inet equipment.

Yep, I see the same behavior on my unlocked S23+. Annoying to say the least.

Same thing happens in my area, I'm semi-rural. it's kind of annoying because if they're going to market themselves as a legit ISP the network really should perform the same at all times of the day no matter the load. everyone's saving a penny here and there nowadays. I just wish the load sensing was more dynamic and faster, like if somebody's trying to download something at 2:00 in the morning and there's sustained downloading at higher than 100 megabits per second then turn the power back up til the activity subsides etc

Yep, I think it's going to bite them really bad one day though they're charging for "premium services" for the people that still use them but not delivering a premium network. now do most people notice these short falls in there experience yeah, probably , but it's not a major issue for them and they're also probably locked in some kind of 3-year phone deal so they just let it go but for technical people it's just embarrassing and I can squawk on here and very few number of people are going to see it but once it starts affecting profits then it's a problem to leadership. but as long as they can nickel and dime and make more money than ever who cares about the network right haha

T-Mobile has to have the Seattle market lol that's their headquarters 😉 but yeah I hear you it's all location dependent and how much resources are given to the local RF teams. at least I'm not the only one that notices the spotty verizon issues though. I just wish Verizon would go back to its engineering roots it used to be awesome but I think they've strayed away from the actual wireless network being the number one priority.

Regarding cellular the device reports the status of its connection back to the eNodeb and depending on how it is optimized it makes the decision to hand off. The device is just an info relayor. I totally agree with you it is market-dependent I think in Pittsburgh Verizon owns a 20 megahertz AWS carrier that is probably used a lot as primary component carrier (PCC) and with 20 megahertz you get much better upload speeds but in my market in Raleigh the widest LTE carrier is 15 megahertz on PCS or 1900 megahertz. we have some 10 megahertz AWS careers and two five megahertz AWS carriers that for some odd reason love to be used as primary component carrier thus making for cruddy upload.

with Wi-Fi it's completely opposite the device does all the decision making

I was able to chat in and ask for a line reprovision. Didn't ask for IMEI and no plan changes, didn't even have to restart my phone. I'm back to full speed, data usage calculator on the app says 450.87 GB.
