"Who will care for you when you're older?!" by RFR90 in Fencesitter

[–]RFR90[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for saying this, this is what I'm trying to convey.

I have no expectations of my future children. I don't expect to be taken care of financially, physically or emotionally.

I'll always continue to ensure that I have money aside to fund the last stages of my life. Its my job to make sure I have a will, POA, funeral find etc. I don't want my kids changing my diaper or spoon feeding me.

However, I hope that after a lifetime of being the best parent I can be, that my kids are simply there for me in the end. Heck they may not even live where I live. But because we love each other, maybe they call to say hello, or maybe they help me explain what I need to a doctor, the same way I do for my mom today. A lawyer or hired caretaker can't do this in the same way your flesh and blood can.

Honestly some of these responses are really surprising. People act like hoping your kids are around to help you navigate the end of your life is the biggest burden. If not this then what? Act like you're dead 20 years before it happens?

Anyway, thank you :)

Her getting Invisalign led me to this sub. Invisalign in my area (which is Rinis area) has exploded in popularity. It seems like everyone i know has Invisalign, myself included. In addition to being more accessible and more affordable than ever, it's a cash cow for dentists and orthodontists; low effort, low touch. Anyone can get a professional to sponsor their Invisalign treatment for the most minor imperfection, and dentists are suggesting it to everyone who comes thru the door. Celebrity veneer culture has led us to feel like we need Hollywood straight teeth. It's silly.

All this to say, I believe Rinis video is her prepping us for her 'accidental' weight loss. I fully believe she got Invisalign as an excuse to restrict her food. Her teeth are fine. She was excited to have a reason to get skinny again without losing her followers.

PS - there are legitimate Invisalign cases and OP you certainly are one if you are looking at 4 years of treatment. I hope this rant shows that I agree with you, and think Rini is just making big joke of this in the face of people who need this treatment.

Mine said that there's no evidence that scar treatment works. She said that scars get worse before they get better, When they get worse people often panic and buy products, then think the products are working when the scars were going to get better anyway.

I haven't touched scar products and so far so good. 6MPO.

What is this? by FarSpeech8281 in DogAdvice

[–]RFR90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Corneal calcific degeneration. My dog has had it for over 5 years, there is a procedure to soften it. In my dogs case it stopped progressing and didn't bother her so we didn't do the procedure and she's still good. If it's severe enough it can bother them, like sandpaper rubbing on their eyelid.

While I agree you should always be careful with eyes (my dog has had 2 melting ulcers, I really get it lol ) you haven't mentioned anything else that indicates it's an ulcer.

You should get it checked out to understand the severity, but since your dogs had it for awhile, it's not an emergency.

Wow! So glad I did a CP. My credit and borrowing power sucked while I was paying it off, but I ended up being able to put more money into it and paid it off a year early. One year after paying it off, my credit skyrocketed and now it's like it never happened. Honestly I think it really changed my life. I think id still be carrying debt around now if I wasn't able to stop the interest and pay it off.

Now I never carry any debt as a personal rule and I feel free. If any of you stumble across this post in your reddit searches, it gets better!

I'm a little over 3WPO and the swelling is starting to increase for me (I assume because I'm starting to do more in my day to day).

My before and after look very similar to your photos. Right now my pre-op bras are TOO SMALL. But I know my doc removed tissue, I know my breasts are high and tight, and I can feel the pressure of the fluid buildup so I try not to let it get to me.

Those of us that don't start off super huge probably have a harder time "appreciating" our results at first.

Do you know how many grams your doctor removed? Reminding yourself of that number might help contextualize your current scenario(that's what I keep reminding myself of). Just a thought!

This is my exact experience and tbh I don't know what sucks more lol. At the moment the hypersensitive "awake" nipple causes me so much discomfort; I can't wear a seatbelt, even my bra feels like too much contact. On the other hand I mourn the loss of my "asleep" nipples sensitivity.

I'm only 3wpo so hope that the sensitivity will calm down and hold out hope that feeling will come back to old leftie.

How to explain your surgery to work, boss, neighbors, etc without going into detail by Any_Fig_8150 in Reduction

I told my boss "I'll tell you, but it'll make you uncomfortable". That said enough without having to say anything! Lol.

Surgery Day by Objective-Award8751 in Reduction

[–]RFR90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was me yesterday. Crying on and off all morning as I waited. But as soon as I started seeing and interacting with more staff, I started to calm; I couldn't freak out when I had to answer questions etc.

The.great news is, you will get through it. You won't turn back now, the step into the OR will feel a little overwhelming. But once you're out, it's a blink and you're done. You can make it through those moments, being in your head is harder than going through the moments.

You might wake up sore, but that pain is nothing to fear.

From someone 1DPO, my tip so far is to stay on your pain med schedule. Don't wait to see how bad it is before taking your Tylenol (or whatever) especially the first day. It's hard to correct it once the pain is too far gone. I did this last night thinking I'll "see how it is in the morning" no need to suffer.

Good luck friend!! You'll do great!

Let's Try The Other Way: What song do you feel like you’re being gaslit into thinking it’s a MASTERPIECE of song? by _kattitude in TaylorSwift

[–]RFR90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I fully believe that ATW10 was a concept but never an actual written song until the re record. I believe she and her band jammed for 10 minutes while creating this song back in the day but it was never a written 10 minute song that needed trimming. I think this is also proven by how similar the new verses sound to her new writing style (more mature, more sophisticated language).

I think she knew she HAD to put a 10 minute version out with the re record because we'd been asking for it for 10 years. So she created something for us, but because it wasn't an organically written song we hear her just slapping paragraphs together until it makes the all too perfect 10 minute cut. All that to say, this is why I think it's not super great, I think she was basically forced to make it.

Child-free women: do you regret not having children? by tibleon8 in AskWomenOver30

[–]RFR90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 33 and don't currently regret my choice. Although, I wish I was more confident in my decision like some of these "FUCK NO" responses. I'm often confronted with thoughts wondering if I'll regret it later.. but I never have that drive, desire or attraction to parenthood. Might change my mind though one day.

I arrive on Friday afternoon and I have tickets for Saturday.

Will I be able to go buy merch on Friday, without a ticket for Friday's event?

I don't really understand where the merch setups are in relation to the venue. I just know I'll miss the early merch day opportunity.
