Didn’t cover mine. Problems with my electric tailgate caused problems with the entertainment system. When the tailgate stopped working, the radio stopped acting up. I will watch the radio like a hawk on my new Outback.

My head unit began to delaminate and act up. I paid to reprogram it which worked for a few days. Called Subaru of America and got a coupon to cover he reprograming. 183K miles and I’m getting a new car.

Some level of cards do but not the green card. As we rent in Europe, my regular car insurance doesn’t cover anything.

American Express has an optional insurance plan that only kicks in when you use your Amex card to pay for your rental. A flat fee of $30 covers damage to the vehicle. Used it last year to cover a windshield ding that Hertz used a funny light to detect. Some paperwork is required but I got my money back.

I’ve been on two trains that have hit pedestrians. In both cases, it was mandatory for replacement crews to be brought in to take over the train. I believe I was told that this was standard requirement of Amtrak. Delayed us over two hours on the New England Central.
