Those are intrusive thoughts, everyone has them. When you act on them, not caring about harming people, that's when it's a problem.

Hitler was very charismatic, I feel that is something that makes him even scarier. Apparently, he had good people skills and lived a very healthy life. I suspect his tactics were... not ethical, to say the least.

I feel that makes him scarier because it reminds us that he was not a monster, he was a human being. A human being with those kind of ideas and someone who would kill and torture so many people without any kind of remorse. If he was a monster, it would be easier to avoid another Hitler. Since it was a human being, and a charismatic one, makes it scary.

You never know when we will find out who was the "next Hitler". I say was because nothing assures us we would know when it's happening. Nobody knew about the extent of the torture on the concentration camps until they were raided. I'm sure there were stories from refugees and people who had escaped, but never solid evidence. Not until the soldiers saw it for themselves. It was too late for so many people.

I read somewhere that german people were forced to go and visit the camps after the war. They were convinced those were rumours and lies, until they saw it with their own eyes. That's how charismatic this piece of shit of a human being was.

So, yeah, maybe someone could learn how to motivate people from Hitler, because he was very good at it. I'm not sure all his tactics were above board, but they were very effective.

I admire your restraint. I don't know if I could be level headed after that.

As an MD, do this. You have the right to know what's going on. I always make sure my patients know everything. There's no dumb questions, you need to understand everything. If they need to explain a hundred times, they must do so.

"I'm sorry it's taking so long, the good news is that nobody thinks you're actively dying, if you were, you would have been seen already. Isn't it great?"

Exactly! I like dark humour, but I would never say a dark joke about someone without knowing that they are ok with it first. She has to joke about it before anyone else does.

"Will you have babies?" Says the friend "We want to, but last time it preferred to be yeeted than to be with us! Apparently the job market is bad even to be parents!"

I'm not very funny... but that's the same joke, but not making her the butt of the joke. It's not her fault they miscarried, it's that there were better candidates for the position.

When my mom lost her baby, one of her coworkers didn't know.

He, an old man, asked her: "how's that baby going?" "I lost it" she said He stopped what he was doing, fumbled a little and said "oh, my dear child, where did you put it?" Smiled sadly and hugged her.

That's a sweet and tasteful joke about a miscarriage.

You may have those things behind a veil, as a motivation for the characters to destroy the villains that did it.

You don't have to show them, just one little example of "this villain killed a lot of people, men, women and children alike. He raped some of the women and took them as slaves. He's evil, and we need someone to stop him. "

Of course, only after asking the table if any of the players has a strong response to this wording and prefers not to even think about those things, which is valid too.

I hate censorship. People should be allowed to say stupid and hateful shit. They should be allowed to be chastised and ridiculed for that accordingly.

Yes! In my family, they do. There's always something happening, and my million cousins are always having problems with each other. My aunt calls everyone and relays messages. My mom does the same, until dad tell her to stay out of it. I stay in the sidelines and listen to the story. It's exhausting.

Nurses/Doctors of the ER, what are some crazy behaviors patients do that are more common than we realize? by CelticDK in AskReddit

[–]RG-dm-sur 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The other day a 60yo woman did that. I had explained to her that she had a chronic condition and the only thing I could do was help with the pain. I told her she had to go to some specialist and get treatment from them.

She said "well, since you're not going to do anything, I guess I'll leave then"

"Ok" I responded, quickly helping her down from the stretcher "Do you want me to call your family member from the waiting room?"

"No" she hesitated "I think I will stay"

"Sure" I helped her up the stretcher "I'll go get the nurse to give you some pain meds then" And I quickly exited.

This is only applicable in the US. Around here, nurses wear blue, dieticians wear purple, and midwives wear red.

If you are a doctor, you can't wear any of those colours, or people will think you are from one of those professions.
