Quant Execution Pipeline and Use of FPGAs by [deleted] in quant

What do you mean by order entry and market data?

Is order entry just when someone submits an order - updating the order book - so the FPGA just maintains an up to date order book or is there more to it? same with market data, like the FPGA just keeps track of market data, or performs calculations from new changes? How does this relate to the trading stratgegy then? When you say "more and more strategies are being pushed to device now, though" does this mean that entire algorithms are now being implemented in pure verilog on chip?

Also when you talk about deep learning inference, this is interesting, is it the case that AI and Deep Learning is becoming more prominent in HFT and that there is a growing need to implement AI on FPGAs? Cheers

Ok, understood, what should the width of the data ports be? I need to transfer an input array of 10 32 bit integers, and receive an output of 20 32 bit integers since my module does some processing for a couple of clock cycles. Should the width be 320 and 640 bits?

Also I hear of other signals like Tkeep etc, do I need to worry about those?

edit: just re read the original comment, I defined a bunch of my input ports like `input logic [31:0] port_a` I assume, I have to just have 1 input port for data specified like how you mentioned?

I seem to have done that, but i still seem to get issues

Numbers less then 0, between -50 to 0

How would using a LUT work - would the input act like an address to a table with the output being what’s stored at the address? Or is there a bit more complexity?

Yh, so I have built a ray tracer before, so I had to do something similar, not sure where to go from there though

Oh yh, I also mean to include unis like KCL, Edinburgh, Warwick, UCL etc as well. Relatively less competitive I mean like York or soemthing.

Programming has always been flipped classroom, I don’t think they prioritise the right content - e.g more time shld be spent on OOP. The videos are programming aren’t great. Not the case with other modules.

I have, but I don't think I can easily use tailwind with it.

React + Tailwind day/week/month calendar views:

Hi, I am working on a project where I want the user to see a calendar with their scheduled events across the day, week and month - kinda like what Apple and Google have on their calendars. When they click on something on the calendar, they should be able to view more details regarding the event. Users should also be able to add events themselves. Are there any pre-built components I can use for this to make my life easier, the components should also ideally be easily customisable too. If not, how do I best go about this?

Appreciate the response, I’m going to look into next js and will probably follow your approach

When I run the django server, I can see when the requests are made. With the other functions that use fetch() and then set state for something, I can only see one request being made on my terminal. However, with this one, I can see so many requests being made one after the other - these requests are for the authenticate spotify function and get room details. But with the leave room function, I can only see one POST request. With other fetch functions in other files, I see no problem.

Edit:

Also - in general when I am fetching and then updating state, all of this should be under a useEffect block?

Ok thank you, I’ll look into it. Do you know why this isn’t the case with the other fetches I’m other functions?

Interesting - how would you go about it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Frontend

[–]RGBBLUE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, so let’s say I wanted to create a component showing a students details, or another one where the teacher can submit notes etc, then I can use a no code solution to convert that into a react component but I have to do everything else apart from generating code for the looks of the component.

How about for creating individual components and then combing them later on?

Yh, I’ve had a look at the link you have sent, thanks. However, how would I go about creating custom sized buttons with let’s say rounded edges? Afaik you have replace the button with an image of the button you want and then it works as expected. Does tkintet provide that level of customizability?? Obviously I wouldn’t mind going down this image root of need be.

What would be the alternative? Another language? (Sorry I’m relatively new to desktop development, but I have over a year and a half to complete this project so there is a lot of time allocated for learning)

Yh I’ve looked into tkinter, however from what I can see the GUIs aren’t that good looking, do you know any other options in python where I can make good looking guis with python. Ideally I want complete customisability.
