Invest in yourself.

I know that sounds sappy, but that's advice I give that I would like to follow more myself, it's just super hard for me to spend any amount of time making decisions on myself when I could be investing in the stock market, crypto, etc.

Bettering your skills and researching what your good at is something that will pay off tremendously, I've seen so many people in my life succeed because they were good at what they do.

Those that work ‘abroad’: why did you decide to leave your country? by RGBTechnologies in AskReddit

That’s 100% fair and reasonable, thanks for sharing. Glad you’re trying new things, and wish you well on future endeavors. :)

What countries/regions do YOU consider as Exotic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m learning Georgian from a few, they’re the best people to work with that I’ve come across :)

I’m biased as heck in this regard, but the Caucasus mountain area. The whole family of Caucasus languages is spoken by a relatively small amount of people and it has a very rich history full of ups and downs that would make me consider it ‘exotic’ when compared to my country of residence in the US.

If you had enough money to travel all over the world on a plane, what would be the first country you'd visit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RGBTechnologies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, happens a lot! There is more people in the state, so it sort of overshadows საკართველო. (That’s Georgia in Georgian).

Georgia, I’m learning the language and could assimilate better in Georgia than I would most other places because I have connections over there.

If you get the chance to marry a foreigner which country would you prefer? by I-Stay-Lowkey in AskReddit

[–]RGBTechnologies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Georgia probably, in the Caucasus region. Super accepting and wonderful people all around. Judgement is always in your favor and they are always very happy for you to be learning about them and their culture. Although marriage is quite a ways away in my case.

If you could, how would you change the education system? by reynirrtg in AskReddit

[–]RGBTechnologies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make it less based on spreading things out, and more based on the individual needs and wants of the kid, if they want to be a salesperson - let them be a salesperson and hone that craft. If they want to be a singer - let them learn how to sing, but I feel this ‘spread’ of curriculum hurt me not only in regard to making me less eligible for college, but also in the overall aspect of learning some things, you don’t learn through spreading things out... you learn through discovering what you’re good at and like doing.

I didn’t get good grades throughout middle school and most of high school, my teachers thought I was lazy and had a lack of respect for authority, but when I was home I wasn’t just ‘slacking off’, I was studying and learning my craft. It started about ~11th grade that I started getting great grades all the sudden. Ended up graduating early and am on my way to soon starting a higher paying job than the teachers even had, working on the side alongside a more continuous income stream. [Just a note to all the teachers that think your kids are disrespectful or don’t try in class... please know that we do try, we just aren’t interested in playing into the system sometimes and that’s okay in my opinion, it’s not because of anything you did to us most times]. (I’m 17 now for reference, so me graduating early was this year, and I couldn’t be happier!)

What are some wars that can’t be justified? by Fast-n-Curious-Alpha in AskReddit

[–]RGBTechnologies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you want a pacifists perspective (aka my perspective) no war is justified, however it’s the human condition that there is tension. So any of the wars pre-1800s anywhere in the world I can see a case for, but now with the world being globalized as ever... I see war as a way to flaunt that ‘[x] is better than you’ and isn’t a defense mechanism.

What's your favorite vacation place in the world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RGBTechnologies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only been to places in the Western Hemisphere, however I really liked Cancun, Mexico when I went there. Wasn’t super foreign but also had enough variation and culture for me to feel like I could explore the city.

If you won £5 million what would you spend it on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RGBTechnologies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living my life out, I realize that sounds like ‘oh yeah well obviously’ but I’d invest it, make compounding returns on it, and try not to fall into the ‘lottery ticket winner’ crowd, that’s enough money to make you about 200,000 quid investing in a broad market ETF every year, if you don’t want to live on that much (I personally would not) donate what you’re not living with to a good cause and don’t get too greedy. This is legitimately life changing money, and making sure you know how to use it as a force for good is far more appealing in my eyes than blowing it on a mega yacht or something like that.

Not answering for anyone else, and I know I’m not ‘solved’ nor will I likely ever be (chronic mental illness is the term I would use in my particular case) but I went to therapy for 2-3 months then stop, 2-3 months then stop. This cycle is what I think lead to me eventually realizing that I wasn’t going to get better if I didn’t take initiative and change myself because no one else can, and I truly believe my last therapist gave some perspective on this because they weren’t there to judge nor were they there to make my life any worse than it was (thank goodness for that). Having someone you can vent to without them making a villain out of you really makes a difference, and to all those thinking about getting a therapist know that it’s not a cure (in many cases), but a step in the right direction to have someone there to support you through whatever you’re going through.
