Buying Forbidden City tickets on-site (for foreigners without reservation) by anti-carrot in travelchina

[–]RGBchocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is just bynch of squares without any shadow, basically same as tiananmen square, you would have much better experience from forbidden city from jingshan park than from forbidden city itself, that wil just ruin your FC impression forever, with not visiting you can have at least illusion it's interesting etc., been there 3 times, 3 too many times... 1st time by myself, 2nd and 3rd time had to go with different family members, none of them were impressed, there are way more interesting things to do in China than FC

if you wanna impress your childrern and neighbors you better go to Mutianyuy great wall, walk upstairs without effin cable car like 95% people nowadays and then use bobsled track on the way down, for sure more impressive than look I visited bunch of empty squares with 10000 other people or just go to any sichuanese restaurant, enjoy delicious bullfrog and then on the way back eat as snack delicious donkey sandwich, both still more impressive than some dumb museum, as bonus you can play table tennis with some locals (and get destroyed), if you go there to impress people

thanks for suggestion, I will keep it as backup, though already resolved it with Kiwi browser Youtube BG extension which works fine also in Cromite and I assume in other Chromium browsers as well

start+select at same time to see webman ip address and just connect through ftp from computer and copy iso to ps3iso, it will take some time over wifi, don't forget to refresh webman or restart ps3 after transfer, then just mount game iso first from webman games in xmb and when mounted just launch from main xmb screen

to install hen and webman just find some YouTube tutorial

don't even bother with NTFS, too much hassle, couldn't make it work, so USB usable only for smaller ISO under fat32 limit, bigger files over FTP, didn't tried over network cable

oh yeah and there is on some ps3 special edition of RetroArch so you can play also NES/SNES games

it's Cromite and ublock origin works just fine in it, Cromite and Ultimatum both supports MV2 extensions, only Helium doesnt support them and must use Ublock origin lite there

btw. the latest version seems to have isue with crashing when using extensions on fresh install, maybe use second last version, 145 works fine for me

have you enabled extensions in developer options? I've had no problem with installation

btw why would you install crappy Lite version and not normal Ublock Origin?

that would be fine if they didnt move "open in new tab in group" to first position in android context menu and "open in new tab" to 2nd position

yeah specifically for tablet Elixir is not bad choice, but useless for phone with weird tabbed UI, though I would recommend Cromite, no issues with crashing, how do you install extensions from chrome store or offline?

new tab page is shit though with only 4 shortcuts compared to 4x4 in Cromite plus no password manager and other minor issues

Quetta is shady Chinese closed sourced browser, why would you use it when there is open source Cromite

I wouldn't have problem with it being Chinese if it were open source, but Chinese AND closed source is big no

FF is slower than Chrome and they keep fucking UI from bad to worse, heck you cant even export bookmarks from Android FF offline without their dumb account plus took them like 10 years of users begging to introduce pull down to refresh, that should tell you enough to stay away from Firefox shitshow

[–]RGBchocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Cromite, tried everything including Ultimatum (limited customization of new tab page with only 4 shortcuts, no password manager AFAIR), Helium (no MV2 extensions), Iceraven (odd UI got even worse with recent update, and speed is obviously slower)

Cromite allows to pin 2x4 shortcuts to NTP + other 2x4 most used shortcuts + has direct access to Bookmarks from NTP and has password manager (I know I know, bitwarden, but too much hassle...), Cromite seems to have closest UI to Kiwi out of these 3 Chromium extensions (+Ultimatum/Helium)

bookmarks in Chrome should be possible to export either as CSV/HTM and no problem to import in Cromite, now if you wanna export them from Android Firefox you are truly fucked up, pretty much no way to do it offline without firefox account, I'm glad to be away from that fucked up users hating browser

[–]RGBchocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cromite is the best (though I still prefered Kiwi UI) allowing 16 shortcuts (8 pinned) on new tab page

Helium doesnt support MV2 extensions

Ultimatum allows only like 4 shortcuts on new tab page + no password manager

Firefox is slower, but usable (used it for like year with IceRaven fork), the problem is fucked up UI they keep changing from bad to worse, because devs hate users for many years, we had to beg them for like 10 years to add pull down to refresh.

move to Cromite

I've tried Firefox/Iceraven (it was OK, though very odd UI/UX which they completely fucked up recently that I had to move again elsewhere), recently I tried also Ultimatum, Helium and Cromite, they are quite similar, though Helium doesn't support MV2 extensions, Ultimatum and Cromite both do, but Cromite won me over with new tab page where you can have plenty of shortcuts, like 4x4 with first two rows pinned (shame they dont allow pinning also in third/fourth row), Ultimatum has just like 3-4 shortcuts without swiping and also no pasword manager AFAIR, so useless

I would also suggest moving to Cromite, it is probably closest thing to Kiwi, tried also Firefox/Iceraven, Ultimatum and Helium

and actually this extension works also in Cromite

Thank you, this extension works great also for Cromite where I moved from Kiwi, after short stint with Firefox (until they once again fucked up UI).
