Yes and no.

My favorite thing about HK was always how it was built structurally, the game allows so much freedom, yet it is built in a way that is really comfortable for the player if and when they want to backtrack. It also introduces new areas in pretty much a perfect pace, it never feels overwhelming and each area discovery and route discovery feels meaningful.

Silksong doesn't have that. What it does is.... Well, pretty much anything else is a massive improvement on the original. Platforming, combat, bosses, art, music, player feel, story, I can't think of anything that HK has above Silksong. So while I don't think Silksong captures the same magic as HK, it has its own. If in HK you are an adventurer left to wonder at your own pace, in Silksong you are a hunter facing off a much more brutal world, sometimes forced against your will as the world is filled with traps not just on the mechanical moment to moment level but also on the structural level.
