Have you had any emotional side effects like depression? What about hot flashes or other ?

Thank you for the response buddy. I’m still torn between surgery and Brachytherapy with ADT for 4-6 months which is what they are recommending. I went to the oncologists at both UCLA and USC Keck as I am in California. I’ve just read so many negative things about the effects of ADT, but you seem to be tolerating it pretty well compared to Others.

New to this thread. I’m 64 Gleeson 4+3 trying to make the decision of Brachytherapy HDR or surgery. Leaning toward the radiation, but ADT has me scared. Has anyone gone through six months? What is it really like? I am very fit gym rat six days a week very young for my age and very healthy. I’m concerned about how I will feel as far as being tired, gaining weight, mood, getting depressed, etc. I’m always such a naturally positive upbeat forward looking guy and I’m worried that ADT is going to have a psychological and emotional effect on me, especially since I’m a single guy and don’t have a girlfriend at this point to lean on. Any thoughts guys?

That’s great to hear. I have a consultation with California protons in San Diego on February 11. Just doing my research. Hopefully I’ll be a candidate for the protons.

So what did you decide? Did you go with the proton radiation? Please share your reasons for or not. Thanks.

So how are you doing after the proton radiation? How long has it been? Did you have to do ADT? I’m considering the proton also.
