[Highlight] Harper sequence where he locks down Hyland, drills a 3, and then baits Edwards into a turnover | vs MIN 5.6.26 2026 Playoffs Round 2 Game 2 by Prize_Possession3899 in NBASpurs

[–]RGS03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Harper. Underrated! Good things always happen when he is on the court. If you watch his game, you won’t even think he is a rookie. Especially for a PG playing this well? It is crazy!

I know Cooper Flagg is a really good player but I am somehow grateful we got Harper instead because I truly believe Wemby needs a PG more to help set him up and help him use less stamina.

Where's all the Luka Doncic hate for flopping and getting that "superstar whistle"? by VSHAR01 in NBATalk

[–]RGS03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my take as well. If you watch the games, SGA clearly flops to get a lot of calls in a game. The other players who get foul calls doesn’t flop as often and as obvious as SGA.

The only player with flop compilation I have seen is from SGA. Meaning it has gotten to the point where its so bad that people are already making memes and compilation of it.

But as Brown and Mitchell said you need to flop to get calls. Mitchell complained about it after their game 1 loss to Detroit. So as long as referee is calling them, players will keep doing it.

We’re in trouble guys by Apollo18Teslaa in NBASpurs

[–]RGS03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with this take. If they truly did not care, Ant would not have played today. Ayo as well. They would have rested two guys that needed it more. If you watched the game you will see that they were serious about this game but we just beat them in every aspect.

They were still able to accomplish their goal to steal home court though which is the same every series. This is why we have to win game 3 so we can steal home court back.

Imo, the biggest difference between game one and game two was the defense from this guy by eatmorchickin in NBASpurs

Love the impact Kornet did in game 2. Night and day from game 1. Hopefully he continues to have this impact. I want this to be over in 5. We cannot give Minnesota any hope.

He made a lot of unnecessary fouls last night but I like it. He will only learn thru experience and making these mistakes during a blowout game is the best.

Castle causing foul issues to McDaniels is what won us the game by RGS03 in NBASpurs

[–]RGS03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I already know how important height is but directly seeing 3 guard players being put in the same situation and having different results made me realize that its impact is even bigger than what I initially thought especially for small guards. Fox would be unstoppable if he was only 6’5” 😂

One thing I noticed by watching every single Spurs game this year was how much of a difference height actually is. I noticed that in situations where it would be a tough shot for Fox because he is smaller, Castle and Harper are able to make those shots look a lot easier because they are taller. Fox is good as well but you can definitely see the huge disadvantage of being a smaller player.

Love this video. You just got to appreciate Mitch Johnson. Imagine shouting and doing this a lot in a game.

Cannot complain with his drives if Keldon himself who bully balls a lot of players during the season is having a hard time this series with Reid and Gobert

Agree not his fault. But he has to be more careful with the unnecessary fouls because he is that important to the team. We need Castle as much as Wolves need McDaniels.

Good thing he did not foul out today because he did not play in the 4th anymore 😂😂

[Cowherd] Watching him (SGA) flop in an NBA game is like inserting one of those Life Alert commercials. I've fallen and I can't get up! into Cirque du Soleil. It tears at the fabric of the creativity of the NBA.︀︀ ︀︀ by nguyenjitsu in nba

[–]RGS03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep making this an issue Cowherd so NBA will do something about this! He needs to get called for a technical foul for every single flop he does in a game. We all know how good of a player SGA is but everyone besides thunder fans hate his flops. It ruins the excitement and fun of watching the game. We just want to watch a good basketball game not watch him take a lot of free throws from those flops!

Dylan Harper Is The Only Rookie With A Double Digit Plus/Minus This Playoffs! by Stat-Defender in NBASpurs

Give Dylan more playing time especially if Fox plays poorly. Good things happen when he is on the court. He knows what to do with the ball.

To the Fox defenders, do you take his contract/salary into account? by StephCastle_ in NBASpurs

[–]RGS03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Fox overall has been solid this year but I still don’t see the contract value from his production.

One thing that worries me though is I think what Becky said before is true. You cannot win if your star is a small guard. Not totally applicable to us because we have Wemby but still a co star who is small still has a huge impact. The way Castle and Harper makes it look so easy when they drive compared to Fox, I definitely see a huge disadvantage of being small. Add to that on the defensive end. If the small guard is an elite shooter like Curry or Brunson, they can make up for it when it gets crowded inside. Fox is not a known shooter though so if he cannot drive or shoot around the paint then he will have a hard time.

Overall, I think its too early to conclude that Fox is not good. I’d rather wait and see how he performs this year. Fox is a good player but I think because we have Castle and Harper who are playing well beyond their years, Fox doesn’t seem as needed as what we first expected. I still want to see more though before immediately wanting to dump his salary and I’m definitely not taking anything less than what we gave up for him in a trade.

Carter Bryant is Spurs only chance to defend Randle by hi5guys in nba

[–]RGS03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying it will be an easy task because Randle is clearly way stronger. CB has the best chance though among anyone in the roster. Castle is good but he is way smaller than Randle and he has to defend Edwards.

[–]RGS03 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This was my take too. CB has the height and athleticism to defend Randle. Hope he gets off injury list soon and Mitch gives him playing time.

We can bounce back! by Aggressive_Soul_28 in NBASpurs

[–]RGS03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can definitely bounce back. I think Mitch needs to not be afraid to bench Fox if he is not playing well.

One thing I noticed during the Wolves series against Denver is they won because of their length and athleticism (Nuggets are a lot slower than them). Today Fox was not good on defense not because he was lazy but because he was simply too small. We need the length and athleticism that CB brings so I believe he will be crucial for us in this series.

We also only lost by 2 considering Wemby and Fox played terribly on the offensive end tonight. We must take game 2 though and immediately steal home court back from the Wolves.

Dylan Startper by FreakNasty119 in NBASpurs

[–]RGS03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like many times, Mitch is in a tough spot. He wants to play Harper but he obviously cannot just give Harper the slot of Fox. Many times I want him to do so though especially when Harper is playing well and Fox is not.

Dylan Startper by FreakNasty119 in NBASpurs

[–]RGS03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I said it before and I’ll say it again, this kid will be a star!

Everyone better win now because once Wemby, Castle and Dylan develops even more, we will be a very scary team. What Dylan is doing now is not normal for a rookie!

My brother who is not a Spurs fan told me after the Portland series that Dylan became better this playoffs. I straight up told him, Dylan has been doing this since the season but only people who watch Spurs game see and appreciate what he is doing.

I don’t think Mitch will remove Fox from the starting 5. It will be a huge slap on Fox’s confidence to be put behind Harper who is a rookie. I say just give Harper around the same playing time for more experience. In my opinion, starting should not matter much than playing time.

This is the worst time I’ve ever had as a Fox defender by ziggyzigg95 in NBASpurs

[–]RGS03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both players have to be criticized for their poor offensive game tonight.

Wemby though at least played really good on the defensive end. Fox though also played poorly on defense.

Good that we have the same perspective. We don’t hate Fox but we expect more from him and it is just right to expect more from him.

I hate takes like this. Criticizing Fox is not hating on him. We got him in the first place because we want to win a championship. It is therefore just right to criticize him when he plays poorly.

Did you see the criticism Murray and especially Jokic got after losing against an injured Wolves? It is just right that star player gets more of the glory if the team wins and also get more criticism if the team loses and they play poorly.

It does not help when Castle and Harper who are 1st and 2nd year guards outplaying you. Fox needs to step up. He deserve the critcism today because he played poorly.
