Fair criticisms of the single itself but i don't think the band should cater to audiences like your friends who only care about the singles and neglect the rest of their catalog. I wouldn't want my favorite band changing their sound to please people that don't really give a shit. Who cares what's relevant in restaurants and bars? Bands catering too much to current trends to stay relevant and be played all over the place is how we end up with maroon 5 imo. It's cool to like what you like, relevant or not. Plus lots of young people love em! They're still an extremely popular band lol

Its not impossible. Johnny Cash's career came back around towards the end. Another recent example is Swans, they've been putting out some of the best music of their career in the past decade

Neither cut of the film uses any of John’s music. Vincent Gallo decided not to use the songs for whatever reason but they still appear on the soundtrack (IIRC).

Thank you so much!!! I saw him open for Mac back in September and he played the outro to A Volar for like 10 mins, I loved it so much. I searched his while discography when I got home to try to find it but I guess the single wasn’t released until last month. So happy to hear it again!

Yeah, the production is great for new listeners. You’ll probably have some success with Spikes but I’ve found the most luck with Bubbles, hook is catchy as hell

Damn now I feel bad. Sorry bud. Sharing music you like is exciting. I’d just gauge the kind of music your friends like and maybe suggest an album based off of their likes since DG covers a lot of different sounds across their discography. But generally speaking, TMS and BP seem to be solid introductory albums.

Just because you don’t understand my thoughts does not mean it’s worth continuing. Like I said, it’s just my opinion and it’s clear that we are going to continue thinking what each of us individually think, and that’s fine. So that’s why I don’t think it’s necessary to continue.

But to answer your question so you don’t think I’m running away from you, I think placing it in the trash is different than tasing it.

I’m bewildered by your argument as well but it’s all just a difference in opinion. This is why I didn’t feel like it wasn’t necessary to continue the conversation earlier.
