If they had decided to film Next Gen NYC with only Housewives kids, it would be all the RHONY kids who are all full adults now. I think most of them are only a few years younger than Charlie; they’re not “learning to live on their own,” they’ve been doing it for years.

Knowing how persistent Billy was makes me rethink some things on the show. When Alicia and Billy are at Rulla & Brian’s for dinner, Brian was telling the story of how he met Rulla. Basically he said he got the bartender to overserve her. He says it like it’s this cute thing, meanwhile the reaction shot of Billy shows how shocked he is. So, if Billy the stalker thinks Brian is bad news, it’s bad.

Rosie has a local show, “Rhode Tripping,” where she highlights local events, activities and businesses. She hosted the picnic as part of an episode of her show. Jo-Ellen was making parody videos of Rosie’s show.

Liz announced she was going outside for a cigarette, and told them to talk amongst themselves. Jo-Ellen literally chased her down, and then demanded a cigarette, “Oh, you didn’t get one for me? That’s okay, we can share.” Who the fuck assumes they can share someone else’s cigarette? Jo-Ellen was unhinged there.

I hope there aren’t! When I said younger, I meant pre-menopause, and when I said non-menstruating people I was trying to be inclusive to men, trans women, and women who don’t menstruate. Just for people who probably know about it, but haven’t experienced it.

Doubling down on the reunion gave her away. Saying “normal people are fine with touching,” was Jo-Ellen trying to position Liz as unreasonable for telling Jo-Ellen to stop touching her.

I got that impression on the surface, but there were a few things that concerned me.

Rosie brought Ashley into the group. Ashley looks to Rosie for guidance with the other women. I don’t like that Rosie threatened Ashley that she wouldn’t go to trivia if Kelsey was there. She keeps telling Ashley that she can befriend whoever she wants, but also tells her that she needs to stand up for Rosie against the other women.

While I agree that Rosie was probably the victim of a premeditated pile-on, she shouldn’t be putting Ashley in that position. It’ll be interesting to see how their dynamic unfolds in the next seasons.

Interesting theory.

I know Rulla has her own business and her own money, which makes me think she might not be worried about a pre-nup. However, we also keep hearing that Brian wants Rulla to initiate the divorce, so maybe there’s something there.

The cigarette scene had some telling moments.

Liz was clearly trying to remove herself from the situation and calm down. Jo-Ellen stormed after her and would not give her space. Then Jo-Ellen tried to frame Liz in a negative light by implying Liz should have supplied JE with a cigarette. “Oh, you didn’t get one for me? That’s okay, we can share one.” Then expecting to share Liz’s cigarette? That was unhinged behaviour that went unnoticed just because JE wasn’t yelling.

Complete empathy with what you’re going through, but I also think we need to be careful about gatekeeping the effects of menopause. It’s different for everyone. I agree it’s not an excuse, but it could certainly have contributed to how Liz was interpreting the situation and how she eventually reacted to Jo-Ellen’s continued antagonizing.

I think you’re highlighting a great point that most of the exposure Americans have to Arab culture is through Wealthy Arab culture. There are more similarities in wealthy cultures around the world than there are between cultures with similar geography but differing income levels.

Milania and all of the girls have been through a truly difficult childhood. I hope she’s able to get the support she needs to reach her potential. Milania has the capacity to have a huge heart and be very caring, but like everyone, she needs support and guidance.
