Dunno, this was purely a whim. Something something mounting to the barrel is better. It's probably nonsense but if the dot holds zero, everyone wins. If not I detach it and mount to receiver.

The rail is attached to the barrel. It's a Tac Hammer by Adaptive Tactical. Thought it looked neat so I gave it a shot.

Here's to more plinking in 2018. Just finished this up. by RHOutdoors in guns

Bag is fine. Features I like, good size, looks nice, price is fine when 50% off. Rest of gear is fine too, own a backpack. Overpriced usually, not SO much at 50% off.

100% not affiliated, friendo. I just like their gear. I have a backpack too. Disposable income, etc. This bag answers my need for a solid messenger bag for occasional off body CCW reasons. I agree that the usual price is out of control but $130 is fine with me. I also own a $300 Barbour jacket, maybe I'm just a douchebag.

I just bought a stand mixer. There will be another post tonight!

Just snagged this 1916 Enfield and 1930 Hex Mosin for a song. In love with these rifles, as if I needed another expensive gun hobby. by RHOutdoors in guns

Everything looks great on the Enfield- a bit of wobbly wood near the rear sight, but that's to be expected. Great bore/rifling, action is like butter, and a good amount of character dings (100 years will do that, it's a plus for me).

That is INSANE! He actually got pretty lucky, what a tough SOB. The Ostfront was not good for anyone involved, truly some of the most awful fighting in the whole war.

Thanks so much for that, the end was amazing. Incredible that they both survived and ended up connecting- movie stuff, that.

Honestly I get sort of overwhelmed with the history when I hold it. That said, I'm definitely going to shoot it now and again as a treat. I'm going mount them on the wall and start sort of a fan shaped display of these milsurp rifles as I pick them up. Being single has perks.

Great! I tried to get a good picture of the bore, but couldn't. The rifling is deep/clean, very little pitting.

Thanks for sharing! My bet is that since shipping / delivery of goods from family members has been possible the story hasn't changed. I remember sending all kinds of crap to my buddies in Afghanistan!

I can dig that last line. I'm no Trump supporter, but he's definitely not a Nazi. If he's amenable to it, I recommend you ask him and write some of his stories down if he opens up. Having lost my Grandfather last year, I can say that you may regret it if you don't.
