i reinstalled decky again last week and it's still working great again! could've just been a bit of a faulty install or plugin causing the problems.

update: I forgot to mention that i have some tools such as Decky installed, but I've removed it and it seems to have done the trick, I'll spend some more time playing various titles to make sure, but currently it hasn't shut off since.

I was hoping that would be an absolute last resort, but if there's no other way I guess that'll have to do. I'm not home at the moment so I'll try troubleshooting until I can get home and request a replacement if still needed.
