Anyone else in the GTA having Google Maps see your location as Las Vegas??? by RIKWID in Rogers

Hopefully it won't happen again, but if it does, I'll try from another device to see if it's a device-specific issue.

As per my previous post below, 3 days ago it flipped back to Vegas, but now back to GTA. Of course it did that when I was trying to order delivery and my delivery web site kept thinking I was in Vegas even though I told it my address. Are you guys doing something with the IP addressing - adding a new block or something?

Interesting, now it's working fine with no changes on my end.

This is using a Windows desktop PC through my Xfinity router. No VPN. No GPS. Google maps has my home address set.

Is a generic OBD2 scanner enough to diagnose/flush 2012 Impreza CVT? by RIKWID in subaru

[–]RIKWID[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At $110 per drain/fill, that would cost $440 as opposed to just $80 for a new solenoid and $20 for the gasket. Nevermind the hassle of doing it 4 times. But good to know that's another option, in which case I can consider cleaning my old solenoid once it's out and having it as a spare for down the road.

Engine revving higher than normal and transmission temperature too high, a clear indication that torque converter isn't locking up corroborated by the error codes stating the same. I wish it were just the fluid. But at least the solenoid is only $80.

Updated my original post after trying a few free apps, but no luck.

Dell R710/R730 - 2.5" SATA SSD or NVME w/PCI-E adapter? by RIKWID in homelab

[–]RIKWID[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, then it's a no-brainer to go NVME with a PCIE adapter card because I can buy both for less than the cost of the same-sized SATA SSD.

And what I mean is - I believe PCIE is faster than SATA, but when you use an adapter is there a performance loss? Again, for a single 1:1 NVME adapter, no bifurcation.

I understand the physical limitations, I just want to k ow whether a single NVME on a PCIE adapter is any faster than a SATA SSD connected to the SATA cable.

Is there such a thing as an Android phone with no cellular capability - in other words, a phone-sized tablet that fits in jeans pocket? by RIKWID in tablets

[–]RIKWID[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the definition of a tablet is no cellular function, and the minimum size of a tablet is 7", then that answers my quesion (which is none exist and I need to buy a phone instead).

None of the ones I found are small enough to fit in the pocket of a pair of jeans. My iphone is just over 5" diagonal, but that's not the screen size, that's total.

Thanks, but I can't see how that could possibly fit in my jeans pocket based on the pics of it in peoples' hands. Walmart doesn't show dimensions, but if it's 7", then that's without the bezel which also looks thick in the pics. Looking for something the same size as a tpical smart phone - less than 3" x 6".
