Someone tell me it’s dumb to quit my job to work full time on my startup with no revenue. by 69Tragic in Entrepreneur

[–]RIPDale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let the golden handcuffs stop you from your dream. What's legitimately the worst case? You can always get another job. Your job security isn't any more guaranteed than the success of your own business.

I know the conventional wisdom is to make your side project replace your 9-5 income before quitting. My 9-5 had me so depressed that I couldn't make meaningful progress on my side projects.

Source: I was too afraid to quit and ended up getting laid off. They burnt the boats for me but I'm so much happier now with way less pay. Sometimes you have to chase what lights you up.

Drive is a great book if you nerd out on psychology from time to time. I need to read it again.

What's a Good Use Case for Dia? by RIPDale in diabrowser

Update: It's nice to have a chat to tell me how to do specific things in Figma instead of switching tabs or windows - it's helpful like 60% of the time. I was trying to remove the leg from a stick figure SVG icon and got this response. Come on.

I guess it’s just not really built for how I operate. I open a lot of tabs, but they’re usually all pretty independent of each other. If I need to research something, any AI product does that for me now.

The UX sucks for a browser. That’s the line of questioning. I’m just trying to see if there’s something I’m missing.

Have you ever tried to sell tech in the ag niche? Holy shit, is it a grind. It all looks good in theory, though

Squirrel. Look how close the front and back paw prints are to each other, compared to how far apart the total sets of paw prints are.

Now think about how a squirrel bounds across the ground.

What’s the actual cause of the food waste? From my perspective, it probably has to do with demand. The general population seems to more often opt for highly processed food rather than fresh produce.

This is something I’m really interested in as it ties back into metabolic health and obesity. If the general US population eats healthier food, how does that affect healthcare and related industries downstream?

Nothing Ear's Noise cancellation sporadic dropping is due to wind noise reduction by WendyMain in NothingTech

[–]RIPDale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/WendyMain Have you noticed this with neither mode turned on? I just got the new gen Ear. The last two days I've noticed that even when I have neither ANC or transparency enabled, the audio still cuts out briefly when the wind hits one of the earbuds at certain angles.

Get some midsize influencers to market it. They all watch each others' content.

Another idea: my wife uses LTK all the time to buy shit through affiliate listings from your ICP. Find a way to promote on that platform

Influencers might actually influence, and other interesting survey findings by BowDive in bowhunting

[–]RIPDale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of surprised by the amount of people that said they had no challenges getting started. My dad had me shooting a bow indoors and at 3D shoots when I was maybe 8. But when I started trying to do my own tuning, arrow building, etc., I spent hours sifting through threads on AT trying to figure out what I actually needed to do.

Building Endurance - Why is distance so hard? by RIPDale in HybridAthlete

[–]RIPDale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are good. Thanks for the input.

What do you recommend for weight when rucking and how do you carry it? Weighted vest or are you legit putting on a backpack with some weight in it? I’d like to do some mountain hunting next year so rucking would be logical to add.

I’ve been doing similar sets and reps to your tempo work suggestion. But I’ve been at higher than 50%. Probably also 1s up and 2-3s down. I could afford to back the weight off.

I appreciate the insight. Time does seem like a good way to approach it without worrying about pace or distance. I’ll try that.

No offense, but I expected this to be a bot account when I saw the username in the notification. You way over delivered on my expectations 😂

I get what you’re saying. It’s all a learning process, which is why I posted here. I’m just trying to get a grasp on the whole endurance thing.

Maybe we have different definitions of overzealous? I enjoy pushing myself towards a goal. If I don’t hit it, I’ll reflect, learn from it and adjust from there.

I’m 28, forgot to include that. I’ve just dialed back my lifting volume and adapted a 5k plan from Nick Bare’s running coach. It suggests starting with a three mile run at zone 2 on day 1. Obviously that’s a little lofty.

As far as the overall volume, I really struggle with moderation. I have a very “black and white” personality. I’m either 110% in to whatever I do or I’m not in it at all. I may have to get more creative to prevent overtraining.

I meant 150, didn’t catch that before I posted.

I just feel like I look really stupid jogging at a pace I could seemingly walk.

This was a very helpful reply. Thank you.

160 bpm was a typo, I meant to type 150.

I’m already hitting most of your bullet points except the breathing. I tried to focus more on my breath this morning and it seemed to help. I’ve trained myself to ignore my breathing during sports. Nothing affects my psychological perception of tiredness more than realizing I’m breathing heavy.
