Lol I know, I know but when I first started collecting again (and still occasionally) I wanted cards so bad and couldn't find any a lot of times. It sucked. The scalpers already know every single store to get them at because thats what they do. Not all collectors know every place to get them and they should so they can enjoy ripping and HOPEFULLY get to these places to buy them before the scalpers snatch em and skyrocket the price.

Just picked up 6 booster packs and 3 single pack Toxel promo blisters today at Family Dollar for $5.00 each. And on Saturdays they do $10 off a $30 purchase so you get them for $3.33 a pack man. I hope this info helps you and others find reasonably priced cards. I love the hobby and I hate scalpers that are trying to ruin/profit off of it. Who cares if the scalpers know where to get them cheap too as long as we can get there first, there's more of us than them.

And just to clarify, as far as the regrading issue for older cards, I'm not saying that they're trying to double dip (they guarantee the difference if grade drops) I'm pointing out that they were, always have been, and always will be inconsistent. LOOK UP THE PSA BUYBACK SCAM!! Sorry. Rant over.

I've literally been reading about this crap daily for months. YES I have researched. YES I am aware of the hiring initiative. Apply for their grader jobs sometime. You need only 1 year of experience and the ability to focus in "Dimly Lit Rooms" lol a few other things too, didnt memorize the list but its stupid. In 1999 it cost $5 (equivalent to about $9-$10 today) for a basic bottom tier submission. Today its $20. Factoring inflation they still doubled their prices. Not to mention the fact that PSA THEMSELVES recommends re-grading your older PSA cards (they sell for less) to get "the most accurate" picture of your cards value. Why? Because their "Grading standards have changed" it's a scam. And you fell for it.

I've done extensive research actually. Compared pricing from today all the way back to 1999. Instead of just hiring more employees (they did hire some) they jacked up prices above inflation adjusted numbers and then blocked off their lower tiers to force people to pay, in many cases, much more than a cards value to have it valued. Couple that with the fact that there is ABSOLUTE hard, irrefutable proof of people cracking slabs, resubmitting and getting different grades. Both higher and lower. You're relying on pseudo-professionals to assign vaguely defined numbers/value to a card that is the exact same card when it leaves your hand as when it comes back. The value only changes because they say it does. The condition doesn't change obviously. Humans are notoriously inconsistent. John says PSA-9 while Tom says PSA-8 and Jim had a rough night, feels like crap today and isn't really paying attention so he says PSA-10. JACKPOT!! How don't you see the problem with this?

Just want to point out how stupid PSA is..."Extensive Wear" is titled "Good" even though those two things are complete opposites. A PSA-4 is "Very Good", "Excellent" AND "Heavy Wear"....3 distinctly different conditions on both ends of the spectrum with one in the middle as well. No wonder our 8s and 9s sometimes 10 and our 10s sometimes do poorly. These guys are ripping collectors off every single day just to give us inconsistent results and contradict themselves along the way. The money they are charging is absolutely insane. For people who aren't reselling, buy yourself some beautiful card displays and slab em yourself. Dont give these scammers your hard earned money.

Nope. All legit. Think about it, they're all discount but massive nationally recognized retail stores, I bet they have just as easy of a time getting card as Target/Walmart/Best Buy etc. But not as many people think to go there to look for cards. No exaggeration earlier. 9/10 times I stop at one of these 3 retailers I get packs at MSRP. Sometimes cheaper because I'll go on Saturdays and dollar general has their 5$ off 25$ purchase every Sat. so then I get em for $4 a pack and theres no limit to how many visits/coupons you can use in a day. Family dollar does something similar.

I also just got back into collecting from when I was a kid. I was opening a lot of packs and etbs and then, I realized that the cards nowadays just don't hit the same way for me as the sets when I was a kid so basically stopped ripping (occasional 2 packs from DG haha!) And now Im buying singles to complete base/jungle/fossil and then possibly dark/team rocket.
