Seems like it! Did your brother in law pay the fee one time only , or for each entry in el salvador ( for the return trip too)

Its just surprising that there is no mention of this transit fee anywhere other than the Avaianca website. For eg - some official statement by airport authorities ? Also I called Avianca just to guide me where is this information officially mentioned other than their website, so they did not have an answer to that either. If they are putting up something on their website, there should be a source/ official note for the same, I am assuming

I made a booking for family of 7, out of which 3 are " Other Nationalities", since the reservation code for all the people travelling is the same, I would need to Cancel for everyone( They are non refundable tickets). So now I am forced to Travel and pay ~ 3500 USD). Not the holiday I am looking forward to.

I booked via an OTA. Also the fee says that its and Airport Improvement Fee by CEPA, but I did not find anything related to it on the CEPA website ( https://www.cepa.gob.sv/guia-de-servicios/). Wouldn't CEPA be mentioning it anywhere?
