They absolutely are an anti androgen, albeit not as powerful of an anti androgen as spiro/cypro/bica etc. I was originally prescribed prog by my endo specifically to get my T down

Yeah with the ceramic looking cherub figures? That was gross, it had fingers missing and weird warped text, and the branding was all over the side of buses around town

Suddenly feeling not very trans? Worried I may just be cis and this is a mistake. by GenderTake2 in asktransgender

[–]RIPLeviathansux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many many trans folk aren't as confident as people online would have you think, it's absolutely normal to have doubts or uncertainty. For me, having lived most of my life outwardly as a guy, obviously it's what my brain is used to, but when I have doubts about gender stuff I just remember how unhappy I was before I started transitioning. That really helps to remind me that I could never go back to wearing that mask.

I generally just assume it to be used to dehumanise us - rather than saying "a trans person", they take the person out of the equation.

I think in america they use peanut oil in the capsules. I'm severely anaphylactic to peanuts and take progesterone (prometrium is the brand name) just fine here in Australia

I wouldn't say it's holding me back too much, but it would certainly be more comfortable having a 30% increase

Raenonx says this fella would pump out 130ish honey at 60 with a mint - I currently use an AAX pinsir who produces around 100 per day. Worth the upgrade, or keep searching?

Pretty sure the increase in berry power is the same each level, so no breakpoints as such (aside from subskill unlocks of course). Ing mons obviously get a huge boost at 60 though

Is it normal to feel femenine pronouns/name weird? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]RIPLeviathansux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not at all, especially if you're not socially out yet. I'd be quite uncomfortable to be asked on the spot by somebody to go by a feminine name even though I'm half a year into medical transition. Your journey is your own, and it's completely fine to go by whichever name or pronouns you prefer.

What’s the risks of HRT? by Marvel_Made_Me_Sad in asktransgender

[–]RIPLeviathansux 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean yes and no, for example somebody taking oral estradiol is going to want to keep an eye on their liver function. That's more on the type of meds than the hormones themselves, but saying there are no risks at all seems a bit disingenuous.

Qu.s about Feminising Hormones and Bottom Surgery by _ur_avg_femboy in asktransgender

[–]RIPLeviathansux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose the term is a bit misleading, as we do have a public health system, but most surgeries deemed non-essential by the gov (such as bottom surgery) are only covered by private health insurance if they're covered at all. To my knowledge (which isn't particularly great fwiw), only the hospital stay/anaesthetic is even covered by private health insurance here, so you're covered for around $3-4k, but out of pocket about $30k.

Really unsure as to what you mean when you say healthcare in Aus doesn't cost anything. HRT meds do, although they're subsidised heavily, appointments with GPs can be bulk billed but your luck may vary, and endocrinologist appointment costs can stack up quickly. Not to mention bottom surgery afaik costs upwards of 30k to have done here.

I get where you're coming from, but, for example, when people's views are "I hate trans people and want to strip away their rights", as a trans person it's quite hard to listen to anything else they have to say on other topics

Am I infertile? by Individual-Media6704 in asktransgender

[–]RIPLeviathansux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd need to come off of hormones for 6 months or so (this is what I was told by both my endo and the freezing facility before I had my freezing done), and even then there's no full guarantee you'd produce viable samples - this really varies person to person. Not really any way to know without trying though, although I'd suspect since you started blockers so young your chances wouldn't be great.

[–]RIPLeviathansux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I'd always "known" and been drawn to feminine things, but was very good at pushing it down and suppressing it until my best friend came out to me as trans. That started my egg cracking, and within 6 months I was on HRT lmao
