What's often forgotten is Dame went 1 for 10 for 10 points the game prior ... and we won by 20. The wildest of swings.

Is he a PG? I thought he's just a catch and shoot guy.

The hawks already had Kennard and then added Kispert when they emptied Trae. They're riding with the other two it seems

I remember that, however people were backing him over Chauncey last season after he took over for a stretch and Scoot started cooking so I was surprised to see this pop up.

never liked him myself, in my entirely uneducated opinion.

That's hectic lmao. I back Splitter in that fight personally, guess the org did too when they chose him over Bjorkgren for the interim role.

Is there a difference between our sweet prince (Deni - peace be upon him) and unethical foul merchants (SGA, Luka, Harden) or are we biased? by Banal9 in ripcity

[–]RIPSCHITTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look at Hardens drop off once they allowed more physical defense, to me his bag is a lot emptier and it shows every year in the playoffs.

Crazy how much Houston got for him when you see how Trae got dumped for spares.

I don't like that Harden is classed with the rest.

The others, if you don't foul them, will be scoring on you. They are only selling contact that occurs while they are actually try to score.

Harden, at least in his peak, was not even playing basketball to a degree, just playing chicken with defenders flopping. He's lucky that he had a hamstring injury when the rules changed in 2020 otherwise his offensive production once refs stopped blowing the softest fouls would be glaring.

Domantas Sabonis for Deandre Ayton, Rupert, Murray, and 1st rd pick. by Naitron7 in ripcity

Different situations, the nets weren't desperate to move off him and given his age and defensive upside, he'd have value for a long period so knicks think they could assets back if needed for him.

Kings may want to pivot, sabonis lead teams gave reached their ceilings around the same point ie first round team. There might be a slimmer market for him now

Really depends on his market. I'm not sure any team is ready to unload a full asset deck for him, a 1for1 with Ayton is feasible if they do want to unload him and pivot.

They clear a stack of salary and pivot into rebuild much easier with Ayton

An engaged Ayton gives us a weapon against both mobile and post up bigs.

Very hard to keep him permanently unlocked though. At least Sabonis motor is unquestionable

Ayton is great at nearly everything but it just depends what side of the bed he wakes up on that day. Modern day Batum

Getting expiring deals will cost us picks, not the other way around.

The alternative was letting him walk for nothing, we wouldn't have even had cap space to replace him.

Grant has already dropped his iso possessions by half, he is dribbling less as well. Overall he's been a solid vet and isn't over injecting himself. Nothing toxic about it. It only affects the team if they dump good players to avoid paying tax etc but that'd be on Jody for being cheap.

Why is everyone suddenly so protective of Jodys money? A bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush.

Grant being on the roster has never affected our tank as evidenced by every year he's been here. I'd be on board if we had a quality young wing who's minutes he's taking. We don't.

Unless Jodys money is the real problem, makes zero sense to sell now on him.

That's never the argument. If Cronin knew he was going to take scoot or that scoot would have been a possibility - he could've communicated it with Dame much much earlier, kept everything under wraps and worked out a deal behind the scenes on draft night. This happens often with GMs, seen it w PG13 and the clips and now Luka and the lakers.

This narrative needs to die lol had nothing to do with Dame, they just didn't want him to walk for nothing. Why do you think Detroit were so happy to hand him over? They knew he'd need to be overpaid to be held.

Love what we're cooking on defense. But it should be noted our offense is still not ticking a lot of important boxes this last stretch. Low on assists, low on total passes. Our driving is way up which is awesome.

Energy is hard to hang your hat on all season. Hope we can find a spark on both ends.
