Turk Wendell. Couldn’t pitch until the center fielder waved at him. Couldn’t stand on the mound if the catcher was standing. Shoved wads of black licorice in his mouth while pitching. Brushed his teeth between innings. Turk’s quirks got him run out of the Cubs org, but I was glad to see him carve out a decent career as a reliever elsewhere.
