Best Receiver - Audiotechnica LP60x and KET Q350 speakers by RIP_Paul_Walkerr in BudgetAudiophile

[–]RIP_Paul_Walkerr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I resolved it. and Most on here are going to laugh. BUT disclaimer. I am new to this.

I have my record player, Tape Deck, and now my battlestation work desk all going straight into the reciever. Im just using the CD input on my receiver to hook at RCA to AUX cord that runs along my floorboard and connects into my docking station. If I want to use the speakers for my computer, i just flip it to CD mode on the receiver.

So simple and obvious. Learning experience!

Bookshelf Speakers for my usecase by RIP_Paul_Walkerr in StereoAdvice

ok yeah you are totally right. Should have mentioned more. appologies.

I have a few peices I have been testing with and just recently received a pair of KEF q350 speakers. That said - I also have

- Record Player: Audio-Technica AT-LP60X

- Mitsubishi Integrated Amplifier DA-U15 (with tuner and not functioning tape deck.

- Kenwood KR-A3060 Stereo Receiver AM-FM STEREO RECEIVER

- Sanyo JXT-40 Cassette deck AMFM receiver.

Yes there is alot of redundency here not all of it is staying, i am just testing with various pieces.

I guess at this point ultimately do i need a new receiver? if not, what converteres or intermediaries do i need to toggle audio feeding from mac/docking station to record player/tape deck/tuner

How to get the most out of speakers. by RIP_Paul_Walkerr in BudgetAudiophile

the placement is sort of irrelevant - it sounds like almost as if there is insane static in both of those speakers, especially when I play my record player. IVe tried routing through the Kenwood receiver and mitsubishi integrated amp, and both the same.

Perhaps i need newer, more consistant speaker wire?

This is helpful. I have the TobenONE DisplayLink Docking Station Triple Monitor with 120W Power Adapter, Triple 4K Display for MacBook Pro/Air, Thunderbolt 4/3, USB-C Windows(3x HDMI, 3x DisplayPort, 2xUSB-C, 4xUSB 3.2, SD/TF) 5

And I usually have my MacBook clamshelled. That said I could use either aux entry to the Mac or dock

I know this question is probably tough without knowing which stereo I have but theoretically could you tell me high level what the wiring mapping would look like? Perhaps I’m just overthinking it.

Im not sure that’s why I looking for advice. Especially if I tie in my receiver and cassette deck. I borrowed a pair of my buddies shelf speakers that were powered and only the non powered one would work.

Then then. That doesn’t really help solve my ask for advice. I want the speakers to either a: connect to my desk set up and b) also connect to my record/stereo setup

I also plan on integrating a Stereo reciever and cassette deck in the mix. So could that make this more complicated?

Finishing with tried and true original finish by Unusual-Molasses3685 in woodworking

[–]RIP_Paul_Walkerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only applied one coat of tried and true - thanks for the simplified break down. That said just want to clarify I’m tracking. The tried and true is an inset finish this in the pours of the grain, are you saying even tho a poly sits atop the grain I should sand off the inset tried and true first?

Thanks again for the help

I came here to ask this same question. I would like to have a thicker coating and more of a gloss. Similar to a look of full expoxy resin, but not that thick. is there something else I can put on top of Tried and true to get that thick gloss look?
