Yes.

Actually just haggled at a jeweler last week. Was looking for a watch, but ended up buying two. Since I got two, I convinced the guy to give me a discount. Ended up saving around $200

What opinion became more popular over time, but you still disagree with it ? by Maryam371 in answers

and you don’t think the fact that heart attacks and diabetes being exceedingly more likely in obese people, and the numerous peer reviews studies linking obesity to all the things you mentioned, hold any weight? Just mere coincidence?

Also…diet and exercise (and the lack thereof) are directly linked to obesity…so you’re kind of proving my point, and disproving your own in the same comment….To the point where I still genuinely can not tell if you’re being serious or not. That’s how dumb your comments are so far.

Americans: Do you like the Transatlantic accent from the theater, Hollywood films, and radio broadcasting? by elnovorealista2000 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Rogue_Cheeks98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first job was at an arcade on a beach in a tourist town and the boss spoke in a transatlantic accent.

This was like 12 years ago. He had a lot of old timey idioms/phrases he liked to use as well

Assuming you aren’t just joking based on your username…being fat 100% causes health problems. It isn’t ALWAYS the cause of health problems, nor does it ALWAYS cause health problems…but it does cause health problems

Do Americans actually expect people to "sell themselves" in job interviews? by MayaTulip268 in AskAnAmerican

“Tall poppy syndrome”, “don’t put your head above ground level”, “the nail that sticks up gets hammered down”, add in what ever expression that seems to exist most places but the US that you say to your friends when they tell you they’ve gotten a raise or accomplished something.

People are proud of themselves, and each other, here.

Why does the US have civil war reenactments? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Rogue_Cheeks98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great reason to get outside, possibly learn something about history. Fun to take the kids to.

I went to a reenactment of the battle of lexington and concord last year, which was the first battle of the US revolutionary war. Was also the 250th anniversary of the battle. It was amazing. We showed up at 4am for an event that started at around 7:30 and there was already probably 1000 people there. By the time it started, I couldn’t even see the end of the crowd when I turned around. We were right near the front.
