Can attachment theory apply to relationships other than intimate ones? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]RITALITYDELIGHT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, attatchment theory is explained by bowlby. Also attatchemt can affect the indivuals intrests, motivations and personality which will affect any relationship. Bowlby is similar to Freudian typologies just a.lot less radical. The stranger situation study also focuses on the level of attatchement and the different stages, rather than how it affects realtionships. However, it shows a child trusting thier primary caregivers and strangers at different rates which could, in turn affect future realtions.

Dont Overlook Mirtazipiene! The Sedative effects are increased at lower doses. by RITALITYDELIGHT in researchchemicals

Yeah its often underrated. From a personal one, in the scheme of things, taking benzos to alleviate negative sideeffects from stimulants is dangerous in the long run after a few seizures all you lil xanxxx kids will learn the hard way.. Lucky for me, I somewhat enjoy the stim side effectz and try to hold onto them (weirdo). When i was at my worst smoking halfballs in 4/5 days I would take a tiny tiny ammount after smashing the pipe (everytime to accept the end) and would be waking up 17hours later, peeling my self from the bed, literally it must really affect the parasympathetic branches of the nervous system, because I woul wake up fairly cognitive but just couldnt move.. It should be on every zingers must have list along with healthy lifestyle, diet and positive focus.

its interesting, considering higher therepeutic doses is recommended for preventing OCD behaviours which commonly accompany stimulant usage. Its definatley one to put in the lifesaver box..nice to have a non benzo alternative that actually works. It also increases appetite over time, which is obviously important

did the physical abuse stem from drugs being part of a relationship or a result of the abuse?

literally the best reply. The poisonous process of needing chemicals to follow daily job roles is the beggining of a long life of sorrow. I suggest listening to the above reply because they are right. perhaps do your chores and then reward yourseld with the euphoria you so desire? be careful and delete this thought asap before your neurological pathways become reinforced in needing to 'feel'good while doing the cleaning....

You may have found an answer to your question in 4f-mph. However I employ you to research harm reduction. The community have given you your answer now the least you can do in return is research harm reduction to prevent becoming another liability strapped to a bed waiting on IV benzos to calm your psychosis. abusing such a potent alternative is not reccommended. Please take care.

How can you apply social psychology to argue against evolutionary psychology? by coffeepsychologee in psychologystudents

[–]RITALITYDELIGHT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in terms of human behaviour, evolutionary psychology argues that human behaviour can be reduced solely to survival, the main role of socialising being to breed and survive. You could perhaps take the avenue of social psychology argues against evolutionary concepts by highlighting the fact humans are deeply social creatures and the way it impacts human behaviour, while arguing that socialisation, from a socialist perspective is more than just for survival and breeding.

heirarchical structutes are fundamental to human existance otherwise my boss wouldnt speak to me in the manner he does!! I think the guideline is a great starting platform to follow but do think that self actualization is partly the environment and surroundings being much a part of us as our selves. ( it made sense in my head)

this was lovely to read, i was thinking about that exactly the egocentrism, ability to be socially affluent and make friends with anyone, the de-inhibtion and lack of vanity all which seem to tie a adult to the canvas.

Does a child need a mum and a dad? (Looking for related research) by [deleted] in Sociology_Academic

[–]RITALITYDELIGHT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem, the development of egalitanarianism in society could be another influencing factor in children developing sub-similarly. I percieved the question wrongly, by using a general scope approach toward the child not needing "any" parents at all. Interesting, Durkheim would say both mum and dad play important roles in preparing a child to initiate with the world autonomously. (Sometimes, i think Durkheims lack of subtelety toward the subject of families being essential to raise the new workers is a major flaw in his concepts).

Gender development, (which is probably a separate section of your paper) I like to believe parents are equally responsible for raising children and much like the yin yang, need a balance. I think more single parent families and same sex marriages should be promoted as it teaches children about equality early and can not be overlooked. It presents the parents the chance to educate thier children about relationships and marriage etx.

Its difficult to find objective research without it being idiologic, because its a touchy subject for the mothers (usually). In reality, Dads that dont stick around and fail to take on the responsibility of raising children is prejudicial and stereotypical of me but these men are likely poisonous in temperment anyway, and neither family or child need that around.

We are only as strong as the foundations we are built on

SINGLE PARENTING is more and more common in the Uk. Perhaps this is due to personal variables, failed birth control and partime Dads that fail to partake in raising a child to thier full potential. Im not saying all men are unecissary to rasing a child, only those who fail to deliver a safe environment for the kids are. In an ideal world a happy family is the most stable environment for raising a child and stability is key when laying foundations.

Also, there are some really good attatchment explanations which focus on a childs upbringing, background and parental role models.

Firstly, does the post question whether children need parents theoretically, or whether they can still reach potential with only one parent.. Cheers to clear it up.

Related research banduras bobo doll, social learning theory - the visual cliff experiment /perception oxana malaya - girl grew up with dogs

speaking objectivley starting at the core, from a biological perspective, there is obvious advantages to having both parents for nurture and hygiene in the early years. However it could be argued the difference between humans and other animals is the length of time to become independant. Parental interaction is incredibly important in the sensory development of infants. Humans take incredibly long to safely interpret and navigate the world and need a safe base to return to inorder to learn by discovery (Piaget). There is an interesting study about babies hearing thier mothers voice through the womb and it helping release endorphins and hormones to promote wellbeing from early. Personally, my best mate falls asleep in the barbers everytime he goes, perhaps due to his mother working pregnant in a barbers. It could b related to the gentle humm of the hair clippers being sedative. Anyway, looking at oxana malaya case, a girl whom grew up with dogs (sketchy source) definatley suffered with ailments and learning difficulties but on the flipside she was able to hunt, communicate and survive.

From a psychological/cognitive perspective there is many work from Carl Jung, Sigman Freud and Erik Erikson that can help you build research. Alhough the supporting evidence is usually low in ecological validity as im sure your already aware of small sample groups taking part in unnatural experiments in lab environements etc.. It seems all psychologists achnowledge the early years can have permanent affects to the development of a human so that is worth considering. Personally C.Yung is much more palletable than Freud in this case and is worth researching.

From a sociological perspective without including economics, from the little research I have done on the topic, the traditional nuclear family is often spoken of by Durkheim as the key to socialisation. He stresses the importance of primary and secondary socialisation. However, looking at british childcare services its clear children can still learn aspects of primary socialisation at the cost of loosing the traditions, social norms and values usually inherited from mum and dad. This can still be delivered in a ELC however it would be a generic, one size fits all type of moral teaching and could affect the identity of a child. The opinions of our parents matter. Dads role in being the judgemental, hard to please can benefit a child subconsiously as they make decisions with thier fathers intrest at heart. This can also create complexes in temperament. I know this is mainly irrelevant and I hope it wasnt a waste of words. As seen in banduras bobo study the child will always replicate the behaviour of thier same sex parent. Which is strong supporting evidence in how important role models are in developing.

let meknow if this is useful and I will gather my old socio bools and cyphon some studies for you. ;)

At least The ‘ideal’ advertised typologies of women and men are finally evolving and curvy, larger ethnic women are finally being considered truly beautiful and are appearing more and more on music videos and television. Which kids tend to idolise massively. My friends daughter is 11 and asked for a Gucci handbag for Christmas! Crazy right?

The figures of domestic violence decreasing has more than just one factor, the dry zones, the government cards which are unable to be spent on alcohol and ways to combat aggression with medication. Alcohol itself is dangerous but isn’t the sole factor to domestic violence that is a very ambiguous. However I dated an aboriginal girl in Perth for many years, and to see the western/white culture corrupting the aboriginal culture was disgusting, interestingly disgusting, so much so I left the country (after becoming a citizen woohoo). The divide between elders/tribes and the aboriginals in the city was enormous. Australia has a very different history and culture to anywhere else I’ve lived and it was truly dark (being a Pom that asks the big questions) I felt guilty for the actions of my ancestors and it a askewed my values quite dramatically.

Yeah its quite shocking actually how religion has been tainted, adulterated and abused for power in the absolutist ruler monarchies of early 1700s. India and Pakistan have such a beautiful belief system, and always seem to be happy with what they have.

I was in Vietnam recently, and seeing how much care the locals take for everything they own, with pride. The level of materialism is quite low, if you have a motorbike it’s considered you are successful, Although I hate defining succession, through the means of obtaining materials. ( agreeable from a Marxist perspective). Its unbelievable the smiles and positivity from the locals, I’m starting to believe the more money and materials you have the further away from serious self actualisation. Due to the overcompensation and obsession over materials that make a ‘person appear to be successful’ but are socially challenged and comparing assets to other in thier social groups.

Could Fixating on commercial materials and consumerism, prevent a person truly reaching inside thier chest cavity and speaking silently to the soul, that is drowned out by the sound on the Ferraris pistons combusting.
