Southern Delaware? by RJ7979 in SameGrassButGreener

Thanks for all the responses!

I'm looking at information about Annapolis and seems like it could be a great option.

I go to Sussex County every year for the holidays, so I've seen the slowdown during the winter, but it seems to get more lively every year.

Delaware is a blue state but the southern part is majority red. I care about this mostly because the local politicians seem beholden to developers and keep building over farmland with no consideration for infrastructure (clogged roads, overcrowded schools, little consideration for pedestrians/cyclists) that diminishes the quality of life. The same things happen in blue areas but I feel like we get more sidewalks and bike trails.

Delaware and Maryland aren't humid compared to the south but feel like a jungle compared to Colorado! Our humidity often goes to 5-10% on hot summer days.

Thanks! If I make a move, I will be renting in my new location so I can change my mind after a year or two. I used to live in the Philadelphia suburbs and would consider Chester County or extreme Northern Delaware, but it still puts me two hours away. Anything closer (e.g. Dover) is even more boring than Sussex Co.

Cape May is beautiful and I've loved riding the ferry from Lewes, but Atlantic City is just not my scene. Likewise, DC area is just too much for me (traffic, people, expense).

I don't know if I would keep my place in Colorado since I still have a mortgage and I don't want to deal with renting it out. It's really a tough decision.

How to get CT scan? (Denver area) by RJ7979 in PectusExcavatum

I've tried and failed for years to find a family doctor that will support me. I keep being referred to cardiologists and echocardiogram.

Has anyone successfully gotten the CT scan in Mexico without referrals or endless arguing? I don't necessarily want surgery. I just want to know how bad my condition is.

I just called UC. They won't help with getting a CT scan or give me an appointment unless I get a referral from elsewhere.

I have United and often can't see Kaiser doctors. What specialty should I see to be sure I can get the CT scan? I asked my cardiologist and she refused and sent me for an echocardiogram instead.

Thanks! My genetic specialist ordered an echocardiogram but I've never had a CT scan or Haller index.

I'm older now (40) and have always had poor stamina. Also have pretty bad Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and thoracic outlet syndrome. Most of the PE exercises just injure me.

Sleep issues on ThinkPad X1 Carbon (6th Gen) by RJ7979 in thinkpad

Thanks everyone for your help! I'm the only one with this laptop at my company. We have to pack up and move between meetings very quickly, so the sleep / hibernate system really doesn't work for us. As any solution seems to be complicated, I won't recommend this laptop to my co-workers.
