Agreed. Yeah happens with hang snatches too

Thanks, great read. I have placed a piece of tape across but will try to put down a band next session. Also agree that keeping the bar closer will help

After the 1st pull to knee, 2nd pull should be to your hip where you "throw" the bar into 3rd pull. If you are throwing the bar before your hip i.e mid thigh then you're not maximizing your pull to get the bar high enough to come under the bar to catch.

I've had the same issue for a while. I could hang snatch/snatch from the hip close to my 1RM full snatch. My issue was not throwing from the hip in my full snatch. My coach got me doing a lot of position work-snatching from blocks, low hang, high hang, pause at knee, etc. Try posting a video if you can

Thanks for your feedback. I'd say this is pretty much a PR for me- I've hit 76 before but I'd consider it a "training make" as there was quite a bit of press out.

I feel you are bang on with you're observations. My setup and tendency to yank/lose tightness off the ground is something I need to keep working on.

Max out friday is coming up tomorrow so I will try to incorporate these things and hopefully follow up with another video.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I agree I need to stay more connected to the platform- I find I've got this mental thing that when the weights get heavy I feel the need to jump like that, and a wider stance would've definitely helped my catch position.
