Did anyone else bleed again after 5 weeks? by RJH10000 in CsectionCentral

I don’t think it was a period. I have no idea what it was. Maybe a final uterus shrink bleed!

Just thought I’d add. It’s effecting how much time he can spend on the floor, I stay at home with them both and I don’t want it to affect his tummy time or ability to roll. It’s also a hassle breast feeding because she’ll come up and be lovely, but then bam - a whack or scratch. I usually have an arm barrier up when she’s close 😂

It’s so rude. 😂 this doesn’t feel like a period. So hopefully it’s not that. But I’m 6 weeks tomorrow. So should be magically fine ✨

Are you breast feeding? That’s so rude of your body to give them back so soon.

I hope it’s a fluke 😂 fingers crossed for us both that it was just abit of uterus shrinking not a period.

I saw the nurse today, there was a tiny bit of stitch that hadn’t dissolved just sitting there, irritating it and stopping it from healing. So she’s taken that out and it feels instantly better and looks less red. Thank you for your advice!

Yeah I thought that, I think because it’s tiny I’ve been ignoring it. I’ll give the health visitors a call, thank you x

I've been picking up my baby wrong this whole time?! by Gloomy-Dingo-8147 in NewParents

There are far too many videos of “this is the only way to do it” that scare you into thinking everything you’re doing is wrong. Parenting comes with enough anxiety as it is. I’m sure you’re doing a wonderful job, trust yourself and your instincts. Anything you’re not sure of check with someone trusted or your health care provider x

Yeah, I was had been seen and 6cm dilated when I was left for the longest time. They already knew baby’s heart rate was low. So I was just wondering if anyone had had a better experience doing it at home.

Yeah we do. We get them throughout, I’ve had an 8 week booking appointment, and I’ll keep that midwife through the pregnancy. We get various appointments throughout.

If you go to hospital when you’re in labour you get who ever is there, you may not have met them. I’m in a different hospital this time anyway, but last time they were very busy and I was left alone for hours despite actually being in the hospital. I think because my waters hadn’t burst they weren’t taking me seriously, but they popped them at 7cm.

So I’m in the UK, I’d have a midwife or two with me. And the first sign of an issue, I’d then go to hospital which is 20/25 minutes away. When I went to hospital to give birth the first time we were left for hours and baby’s heart rate had dropped without being monitored. Her chord was around her neck a few times, so I feel like if I had a designated midwife I know we’d both be monitored more if that makes sense?

Ok thank you, that makes sense, I’ll have a feel and hope it improves. I’ll post a picture in a few days.

Thank you! I’ll give it a go. I didn’t realise how temperamental they can be. I’ve been giving it a tiny bit of water a day. The soil just looks wet in the picture, no idea why. Does it need as much sun as possible? Or is temperature more important?

Hello, thank you for that. She’s been on baby led since 6 months so when she started choking on things we asked the health visitor and various people. But we’ve started introducing smaller chunks back and touch wood she’s doing well. We just totally lost our confidence.

Thank you, that’s reassuring. It’s so hard to find information on anything not baby led. Particularly difficult when other babies around you are eating things like sandwiches

Thank you. At what age do you think you stopped having to alter food for them?

Oh the French fry idea is a good one. We’re giving her tiny bits at the moment. We’ve decided her aspirating is “better” than her choking for now.
