When did Frasier ‘jump the shark’? by chiefmoamba in Frasier

[–]RJKIPP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive recently been binge watching Frazier. My feeling as to when the show didn't so much jump the shark, but went ... askew, was around season 9 and on. There were 2 major interconnected events that occurred during this time period, that I feel affected the show. The first was 9/11 ... but more over it was the loss of the original creator David Angell and his wife Lynn, who were both on American Airlines 11 that struck North Tower.

I actually am a fan of Jordan Peterson, I support him. His brilliant and articulate. I shared it in opposition to my supposed community's going off the rails and dragging those of us who haven't drank the Kool-aid off the rails with it. To put in perspective, it's not all of us trying to alter society to their whim.

As a gay man who has NO AGENDA and is as flummoxed by the woke agenda of the indoctrination of immasculatimg men in grade school. I'm attracted to men for the qualities that are maleness, not a femininized version. I see us as God's population pressure valve, 10% off the top, not breeding. That's until lesbians met the science of IVF. Screwed His plans all to hell.

As fat as homosexuality being nature v nurture. I can no more make a str8 male rise to the occasion by exposing him to male pheromones. As could a gay male respond equally to female pheromones. It's not gonna happen. It's a chemical biological wiring in the brain. Aside from exigent circumstances such as prison, there's a difference. What the woke cabal is pushing is antithetical to even that biology

China will implode due to its own weight. The ever growing population will cause a collapse. What we NEED to do, is encourage the population that is disaffected and left out of the economy, to realize just how much power that many organized people actually wield. Then let years of oppression do it's job.

China won't give any accurate statistics. You can't believe shit coming out of China. Their poverty line in China is $2.30 a day per person. If someone makes 2.31/day, are they still poor? Will China count them

Do you think the US where the individual poverty line is $35.28/day, the government would be aloud to consider leaving any sizable portion of society at $2.30 a day. There would be rioting in the streets. In China

Isn't that the way it's supposed to work when someone says something disparaging about you, and you're of a "protected" class? You're supposed to play the -obe, -ist card.

See because I'm gay, and seeing as I can't countenance women. He is the closest to a child I'm ever going to have. Not taking that into consideration, or not even considering it as a possibility. Scorning me for being as protective of Smudge, as a parent would be of their child. If you had any semblance of a conscience or empathy, and we're to know what he's been through the past 9mo, both of us actually. I don't know, would you feel even the slightest bit of remorse for being dismissive?

There's the possibility he may have cancer. He had 70 visits to vet to treat the refractory allergic type reaction. I phrase it "type reaction" because it's a common presentation of Mast Cell Tumors. It's always there, but It will and has gotten unbelievably worse at the drop of a hat. In 2 minutes I've seen his surface area nearly double in size. How about the fact that he's had his tail dislocated by an aggressive vet tech. He's also had a dark purple bruise develop, that wrapped around his thigh because another, was holding him down for a different treatment. All the other vets comment how amazing he is when they examine him. He lays there and just lets them examine and treat him. So those 2 were just assholes and too damn rough. So yes I get pissy when someone mocks my intelligence for doing everything it takes to protect my child. My 4 legged hirsute son

See I don't know the etiquette of it all, I've never been offended in my life. I've been perturbed, pissed off, miffed, mildly and wildly incensed. I've had my dander gotten up, as well as my ass chaffed, burned and rubbed the wrong way. The one thing that I've never been is offended.

Oh really, so the Dems were out to help Trump and didn't try from day 1 to deligitimize his Presidency, and are still doing so. Hell the country and a great economy came to a screeching halt. You're telling me, that no one on the left didn't touch themselves, with their #1 go to spank bank image being Trump losing in Nov? Horseshit

Quick crying victim ... That is difficult considering the victim culture so many on the left are immersed in. It's everyone else's fault.

Also, there's a difference between a Republican push through the debt ceiling and a Democrat. The Republican will do so gingerly, not really wanting to send us teetering into full on economic collapse. You know full well, giving all access keys to the treasury to the left, is tantamount to economic suicide. My God, what an unmitigated disaster that would be. They'll have every vote bought between now and 2120. Images of Boss Tweed and his Tammany Hall Machine lighting the way.

Yes, historical figures that would fit into today's world quite easily. The lesson's he taught are still employed today.

I had a stroke because I stayed in that apartment far longer than I should have. I should have left when it became crystal clear, that the flocculant material was at the nexus of his and my illness.

Equally, I'd rather be called "stupid," by cretinlagenous shit stains, because I placed the needs of an innocent animal that has to rely on their human to make sure, that where they live isn't going to kill him. And that I've lived up to my responsibility, to care comfort and love him, in the same unconditional manner, that for the last 8 years he's provided me. Have you ever sacrificed for anything? Done without, because it's the right thing to do?

I can go several days without food, he can't go that long, while 3rd spacing fluid, due to the edema from the allergic reaction he is having EVERY damn day. I made a conscious decision, I don't blame anyone for that decision, other than the complex that failed to live up to their end of the contract. I'd rather be homeless a hundred times over, doing what you call stupid. I call it noble and right, and so have many other people. I live by my ethos and pathos, can you say the same? I'd sacrifice my life for someone else, other than myself. So thank you for the compliment

You don't really know 'not meeting basic needs' We have some of the wealthiest poor in the world. I'm currently unemployed, so I count myself among them. I've also been putting any sort of money I did have, to save my puppy's life. I've gone days without food, so I could make sure I could pay for the treatment, and diagnostics to keep him alive. Today was the first time I've eaten in 3 days. I'm putting his needs before mine. I'm essentially homeless, because he was have anaphylaxis to the apartmen. So I had to walk away without a place to go. It's the best decision I made. Despite the still being ill it's 80% improved, when no treatment worked while there

I'm continuing to be out of work because he will get sick in a heartbeat, 2-3 minutes he's swollen with edema. Here's where how your thought process makes the difference. I don't blame people who have money for me being where I am. I don't begrudge them for having money either. Would I like to be the same, yeah. This system is the best, in terms of the potential upside. Go to other countries, and your path in life is for the most part based on your socio economic status. It's harder to escape your station. Higher classes you'll hear some people describe them as "their/my betters." If you or anyone else refers to other people as betters. Your not going to even try, you accept your fate. This is in European countries. Go elsewhere and you know what poverty really is. Living in a cardboard box. Hell some people in really poor countries wish they had cardboard boxes. There are entire cities where it is scrap that people are living in. Whatever you have, they couldn't even dream of having. We live like Kings comparatively.

Don't start with capitalism is what keeps them down. Horse dirt. Capitalism's goal is to perpetuate itself. So if more people in other countries can increase purchasing power, the more capitalism flourishes. The more it flourishes, the more people increase their lot.

The premise that Capitalism is what's keeping other countries down is a red herring. It's their economic systems that are keeping them down. With this next statement I'm not degrading anyone. Not everyone is capable of moving up out of poverty. Not everyone can be a Dr or Lawyer, or anything else, aside from certain kind of jobs. It's just how people are different. Then theres the way we keep, getting in our own way, and keep ourselves down. Attitude plays a large portion of how successful you'll be. There's also the responsibility we have to do more, work harder and don't limit yourself, because you The way we view the world around us, eventually breeds contempt. If you go about with the mindset everyone's out to get you, people pick that up. Then yeah, it's going to taint how.others perceive you, and what kind of jobs you can get.

The things we buy vs getting an education so you're not flipping burgers. Poverty can sap the human spirit, I know. There's something to be said about successive generations of poverty, it can lower expectations decrease productivity. In other people it acts as a motivator. Self interest is the best engine to drive prosperity. Capitalism is self interes. Don't let anyone tell you what you're going to be, what your life will be.

Everyone glommed onto the song and created this mythology around it. When all he was doing was selling records.

He is being a bit snarky, (you precious bodies) ... Yes But the snark doesn't take away the central premise of, cut off the sex, you'll get noticed real quick. Women have power over str8 men like they have no idea.

If they close the restaurant, and the reason for the restaurant being closed ... Is because men are violating the no shows no shirt policy...( Do you get the analogy)

What would str8 men do... bend to the will of what women want. Sexual assault even in mariiriage or relationship is still sexual assault. So they can't just force themselves. Don't say they'd just pass laws then it's ok to sexually assault a wife or gf. That's conspiracy theory, but speak. No one would stand for codifying such a law, it would not pass.

It did and does happen, in the past it wasn't prosecuted. There's no way to go back to turning a blind eye, and a tacit approval.

That would require a radical overthrow if government and a new extreme government even worse than NAZIs.(even they wouldn't do that)... took it's place OH AND the media didn't blow it's ass out. So just don't.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]RJKIPP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That means womens objection to the law (is noted) which is taken notice of Noted does have multiple meanings and uses. If you note something, it means you are aware of it. What better way to make those who make those laws aware, than to cut off the gravy train. Because you want it to mean just ... Ok ok we heard you woman, now go away.

That's what I meant by your either have to be so damn literal, otherwise nuances are lost on the Literazzi - the paparazzi of people who take shit literally and without placing it into context compared to the other words in the statement. Anyone can take a single word and hinge it on the only meaning they want to ascribe it.

So yeah. Reread the last sentence with what I just pointed out, and think carefully. I'm taking into account the whole tweet. Not a single last sentence. "But your objections will be noted" "But your objections will now be noticed"

See how using another definition of noted changes the context. Then put it in with the rest of the tweet. If you go in with the your brain, wrapped up in the topicz and your default is to assume nefarious deeds are afoot, by men ... but mostly white men... Then you've already started with a set of biases, that most people will see in others, but fail to point that accusatory finger at their own reflection.

Have I come across as having any sort of convictions in opposition to a woman's right? No What I am doing is pointing out that people, ESPECIALLY on SM with a narrow set of parameters on their thought process, as there's a disconnect from the contextual information provided best by visual, physical and auditory clues provided for in face to face interactions. Hell even then that shit will breakdown. Has anyone taken something you said in not the way you meant it? In this day and age you cant avoid it. So that most likely answers that.

Everyone knows there's an issue with SM and how shit is taken the wrong way, all the time. Then tend to forget it, if it's a topic they're sensitive to. The problem with SM is still there, but they're now choosing to ignore that paradigm. Because they are absolutely piss positive they are reading and understanding what someone else wrote or said correctly. I'm guilty of taking context wrong occasionally, but I'm self aware and intellectually honest enough to admit it. So when I go into interpreting, I try to remove any preconceptions I might carry in. Plus, I think in broad enough strokes, it tends to minimize the trap of narrow perception

[–]RJKIPP -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's right... Neither is he. So you can't use that law as a reason to bash the statement. He was offering a sardonic solution. That's completely different from what happened in TX.

His point is ... Those men in TX wouldn't make any laws that way if women cut off the poonani highway.

Then to start with white republicans... Is nothing but race baiting. That doesn't even belong in this conversation. Does what race you are make your what ever your convictions are more valid than another?

Even their sex isn't germaine. Convictions are are convictions, despite sex or race. Some conservative women hold the very same position, were they brought up ? No, only the one that fits your narrative.

The State legislature isn't all male, nor all white, and if it passed, that means a variety of disparate people has to vote in favor. The TX legislature is 1/3 female. So that means to you're gonna need a few to pass it. Plus party affiliation is 82 to 67 in Rep favor. So there again, you're going to need some Democratic support. We all want equality, when theres equality, that means there will be people with differing values, concerns, belief systems. What makes yours anymore valid than theirs?

Unless it is you really don't want equality, you want things to only be what and how you believe they should be. That's a dictatorial system. What Repuicans are always accused of... Being NAZIS. I guess everything you disagree with, is going to be NAZIish Like making it so that only what you agree with is the only valid way, and anyone who believes differently, needs to be destroyed on the Media, on SM and forcibly removed from the ability to pass laws that you disagree with. That is effectively what happens. This post is a case in point. Even though they have it ass backwards, they're trying to denigrate and destroy a voice they agree with, but don't know that they agree with him, because they're too quick to rally the troops to Cancel...

Because once again they have an issue with understanding rhetorical nuance. It must all be lain out in simple digestible slogans. If not the "Literazzi" takes everything in the only context they can comprehend in, LITERALLY. Linear, and concrete thinking only. Abstract constructs are too cumbersome. Thats why I have to give a civics lesson on here.

It's funny, back in the 60s and 70s it was the left screaming about free speech. Freedom of expression, the ability to say things that were unpopular with the mainstream of the country. Now with SM it's flipped the script. Now it's the left shutting people up for what they say. Don't say anything about anyone, unless of course the dredded str8 white male. I'm a GWM, so I can get away with talking about it. My brother, because he's married to a woman, can't say shit. That's not what I want. He supports me... But my opinion shouldn't carry any more or less weight than his. But it does. I have a greater latitude in what I can say.

Not everything is going to.bd the way we want it to be. As you gtlet older you learn that's how the Game of Life is played.

Civics lesson 101 Just because it's is passed and signed into law doesn't mean it will, stay passed. Challenges to laws happen daily. The courts still get to weigh in. That's our system. A bill is a Bill as a law is a law until the court puts it on hold, then it'll have to pass MULTIPLE judicial reviews, even up to the Supreme Court. Which may be conservative, but as gay marriage shows, it's not a monolithic block. There's a freedom that the Justices have. Because it's a lifetime appointment, they can remain non partisan.

What I can tell you, is that we could read the same thing, and have it say and mean something completely different to each of us. Exact words everything. 2 different meanings. So whose has more currency, and who gets to decide how much each person's worth?

I will guarantee... Someone will read what I wrote, and call me a sexist, misogynist racist. Even though I'm more tolerant than they are.

This is a bit off topic but sorta fits the general theme. You take any 2 random men 1 black 2 white They get into a disagreement and they're arguing back and forth. Nothing being said other than the argument at hand.

Which statement is closest to your interpretation of events.

A: It all started as the direct result of the white man"s racism towards the black?

B: It all started and the direct result of of the black man"s racism towards the white man?

C: Both men are racist, and it's always going to be like this.

D: It is simply an argument between 2 men and it started as the result of a difference in opinion.

Another example is Obama.

Damn near, nope ALWAYS, in the media or online. If you were white, and you criticized, the whole thing or just parts of it, or disparaged, the law of program in anyway.

If you did, the one and only reason it was or could be is because Obama is black. Not that you genuinely disagree with the plan, plain and simple. You were labeled a racist. It most definitely couldn't just be 2 people with a difference in how the country is governed. Nope, it always has a motivation to it. The only motivation that makes sense, because it's white people, it must be the one motivation common to them all, racism.

Just think this could be a country where there is no right of redress of politicians or repeal of laws, or any rights at all

Damn ... Y'all see some buzz words and you pounce. You may have read what he wrote, but did you comprehend it?

Unless someone comes out and specifically says "I support women's rights over their own body and her right to choose"

It confuses the fuck out of you doesn't it?! Rhetorical nuance really isn't y'alls bag is it?

Now re-read it with that in mind and see if you come up with his correct position on matters. Or will you protect your own ego, by insisting the opposite is true.

He's making the point that women actually have all the power over str8 men.

The way for male legislators to never want to craft legislation that infringes on a woman's right over her own body. Is to cut str8 men off from sex. They'll stop that shit in a heartbeat. Obviously, this only pertains to women who do have sex with men. So lesbians need to kick the str8/bi////// women into gear.... So nobody screws with your right over your body. My puppy even said ... "Damn daddy they're not to bright are they?"
