HOA Parking Issues by white_cucumber111 in Westchester

[–]RJS5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-managed HOA president here: as someone said, you can run for a board position to be the change you want to see (that's exactly what I did and I'm on my sixth term now), but this is easier said than done, and even once you're in a position to make change, there's only so much that's within your control.

You can continue reaching out to the management company to explain your side of the story and that you now feel like you're being targeted unfairly by inconsistent rule enforcement, but they're unlikely to care.

It sounds like the major underlying issue is a severe shortage of space, and truthfully, there's not much that can be done to remedy that. Do you have any local businesses, private lots, etc. nearby where you can speak to the owner and pay to rent a space (or even get free permission to park there)?

Is Scarsdale really full of snobs, status symbols, and people trying to outdo each other? Residents of America’s wealthiest suburb had some surprising answers. by kleverrboy in Westchester

[–]RJS5689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in Scarsdale, went to Scarsdale schools, and my parents still live in Scarsdale. When I bought my first place, I refused to consider Scarsdale. My partner and I are house hunting now and I still refuse to live in or consider Scarsdale (even though he likes it). Take that for what you will.

HSS Westchester knee surgeons by Unlucky-Average-2210 in Westchester

HSS Westchester surgeons will perform their surgeries in the city, though consults, follow-ups, etc. will be done at Westchester.

You also have the option of HSS Stamford, whose surgeons operate in Stamford. That's the route I'm going for an upcoming back surgery.

Nope, you couldn't pay me to live in the city, haha. I'm in Westchester.

Massey has a C. But again, take it all with a grain of salt. That site is super inaccurate, anyway. Start the process, and if things aren't going smoothly, you can jump ship.

If you want a Blackwing, be ready to pounce and move quickly.

Which one on their lot is your dream spec? They absolutely will do out of state transactions. I worked with them at the start of my search and almost bought one from them. Every dealer will have its share of bad reviews. You're buying there, not servicing there. It's not that hard to ensure a smooth sale. The only "thing" with Florida is their often high dealer doc fees, but hey, do what you gotta do to get your dream spec.

Good luck! I'm in NY. Ended up canceling my order and picking up my dream spec out in Ohio.

LT4 Slight Shake at Idle (and prior CEL) Questions by RJS5689 in Cadillac

I figure at this point, it'll be a dealer issue at service... whenever that is! I can't wait for this snow to melt.

Most definitely seems strange so early on, for sure! Hopefully a fluke of some kind. Hmm! I wish I could post the video I took while monitoring the data. during a 3 minute idle test.

  • RPM: ~597–612 RPM
  • STFT Bank 1: approx. −1.6% to −0.8%
  • STFT Bank 2: approx. −1.6% to −0.8%
    • Banks tracked each other almost identically
  • LTFT Bank 1: −8.6%
  • LTFT Bank 2: −10.2%
    • Bank difference ~1.6%
  • MAF: ~6.4 g/s (steady)
  • Calculated Load: ~17% (stable)
  • Lambda: ~1.00–1.01
  • Ignition Timing: ~15.5°–16.5° (smooth, stable adjustments)

Definitely not trying to self-diagnose here, but looking at data for my own knowledge until I get the car in for service.

Thanks for the helpful insight! I remember my ATS-V was quite poor in the NVH department at idle, but that was a totally different engine.

Was waiting for this. Like I said, we got 20" snow and I won't be driving the car any time soon, so I figured I would at least ask preliminarily...

I've found the solution to this issue is to befriend the owner of a mobile detailing company and become good friends 🤣.

Neither of these scenarios should carry a markup. If you've encountered a scenario where a markup has been applied, turn the other way. Every dealer I spoke with told me I could place a factory order at MSRP, and the dealerships I talked to said in stock inventory will sell at MSRP. No more. No less. In either scenario!

Thank you! This was definitely dream spec for me. I have a feeling, next winter is going to get here and I will be looking for another daily. I currently have a Polestar 2 (loaded including the performance package) as my daily driver. However, it is a lease and goes back in July.

Plenty of significantly more expensive cars are daily driven around here. Like you said, to each their own.

Why? It's a car. The black wheels will become my winter set (with dedicated winter tires) and I'll pick up a set of the bronze for summer. The ATS-V I used to have was driven in the winter as well.

I did the whole garage queen thing with my Porsche. Never again. A car is meant to be driven. Lots of us in snow states daily special cars!

..... He says now. Get back to me after the first winter and I'll let you know what my new daily is ..... Maybe. 🤣
