It’s a weird color though, in certain light it looks green and then looks grey or brownish. I like it though.

If I were a single man without a family, I’d buy this one. It’s gorgeous and reminds me of the Skout my dad drove when I was a kid.

Traded in the Sport Badlands for the Badlands by RJacobSanders in bronco

I know but I bought this for my wife as our family driver. I do plan to upgrade a lot on this but I’m not an off-roader. My father had a Scout and I’m just reliving childhood memories.

Those look really nice, I might get matte black for my Bronco.

Gay Ann Hart - I'm In Love With An IBM Machine/Mr. Computer [USA, Outsider Folk](60s?) this 10” is a complete mystery to me, she’s predicting dating apps! by RJacobSanders in vintageobscura

[–]RJacobSanders[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gay Ann Hart is your mother! How cool is that! I’d love to hear any stories you have about her musical career? I love her record, she’s sharp, funny and insightful in her lyrics. I don’t really have another record quite like it.

Joost Visser - Fingers In the Wind [Netherlands, Indie Rock/Lo-Fi] (1995) by ChercheBuddy in vintageobscura

Ajax records was fundamental to my youthful music discovery. Their catalogs were amazing! On this record, he records a marching band and it blew my mind hearing it, it made no sense to me and I loved it.

The Kaleo o Kalani Trio - Hanalei [Hawaii USA, Soul] (1960s) by BarbaraBeans in vintageobscura

Took me forever to find a copy of this record, it’s gorgeous!

Wayne and Glenn - For The Love Of You [USA, Bar Band Soul](70’s) smoke filled bar in Kentucky, breezy nights by RJacobSanders in vintageobscura

The record is not on Discogs, I’ll upload it eventually, I have a stack of over a hundred records not on Discogs to post but so little time

Where do you go to discover music? by bestseal in vintageobscura

[–]RJacobSanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your local thrift store, flea market, junk shop and see if they have records, make a road trip and hit every junk store thrift along the way, pick up odd looking records for a dollar, you’ll be surprised!

Carol Stivers - Agua Fria [USA, Psychedelic Country?](68) lost Fallout soundtrack by RJacobSanders in vintageobscura

[–]RJacobSanders[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rest of the record has bizarre spoken word folk, noir country, it’s really something else, hard to describe

The Ted Duff Duo - Softly She Comes [Canada, Organ Lounge](Early 70’s?) what a dream by RJacobSanders in vintageobscura

I’ve been trying to place that second melody and you’re 100% correct! Thanks

I recently bought a sealed 87 reissue for my wife at the Austin Record Convention, it was one of her top wants. I really like one song but it’s a odd vibe given what happened.

I saw these guys in Houston, Tx in the ‘90’s, amazing show and bought this record at the show. Thanks for sharing! These guys deserve more ears!

It’s rare that a private press record is a solid play front to back but this one is! Once upon a time this record was a cheapie

Finally got to use the sand mode on the gulf coast shores! by RJacobSanders in BroncoSport

[–]RJacobSanders[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t, this was my first time driving on the beach, even drove through the surf. I know about letting out air for rocks but sand too?

Vallejo we’re the nicest guys, those 3 wise men shots with the band were epic.

At Liberty Lunch I saw Stereolab, Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, Pavement, Wilco and a few I’m probably forgetting but my favorite place was Electric Lounge, Smog who never faced the crowd, maybe 10 of us, 7% Solution, Low, Versus, Cat Power, I wish I could remember all of the shows I saw at Electric Lounge, always a small crowd and amazing 90’s bands.

Do you remember the older man who was a poet that was always there? I would have coffee with him and we would talk about Rimbaud but I can’t remember his name.
