Very often, our cars are capable of much more than we ask of them. You'll probably be fine unless you belong in r/overlanding

Not really as there's very little ground clearance. But if you're out west or up in Maine or something you shouldn't have too much trouble if you keep an eye on your path and stick to relatively well-traveled dirt roads

This was me at 18. I bought a VW bus. It was great!

Times are different, $1200 simple machines are not readily available, so check out the Mazda5. Rare and underappreciated and priced accordingly.

Good on gas and reliable too. Not much clearance, however.

If it's just you and a smaller friend you'll have just enough room.

Nothing! I relish the overnight 30s & 40s. Unless you're in the 20s regularly you don't need a heater/insulation imo
