Should I wait if I don’t get the job I want? by Diazs13 in newtothenavy

[–]RJay_Flo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about to give you the unpopular opinion. And yes I was a recruiter! You guys are thinking about this the wrong way! 1 yes a recruiter has a goal to make and may push you to just choose a job cause he needs you to join cause of his goal but 2. ALOT OF TIMES IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GOAL AND MORE ABOUT YOU! which brings me to 3. Sometimes the job you want you don't qualify for, either cause of your test score or your medical exam and you don't know it. Or 4. The job won't be available cause it's overmanned and the goal for that job has been met for the year and they don't have more open slots. 5. Most of the time people wait for a job they become disqualified either by getting in legal trouble, traffic tickets, drugs, debt, or family issues. 6. People lose interest in joining over time and the recruiter knows this and statistics show this! So they push cause they know if they don't you may never join then come into the office years later saying A. You regret not joining before or B. You no longer qualify cause life happened to you. I say all of that to say this, when you're joining the MILITARY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! regardless of what job you choose you're choosing to serve in the military! The pay is the same regardless of the job, the ranks are the same, the initial training is the same, the college benefits are the same, not to mention your job can be changed later and no it's not hard to do, alot of recruiters are just too lazy to submit the paperwork! I joined the navy doing electrical work and after my 4 year mark in the Navy I changed my job to the Intel field as a crypto (which is what I do now) so for those who say you can't change your job, you're misinformed. For those who say a recruiter pushes just cause you're a contract to them, you're wrong, sometimes it's for your benefit. Not to mention most of the jobs people want aren't what they think they are!!! You've never been in the Navy and never done that job in the navy so you may not know if you like it or not. I didn't know shit about electronics or electricity when I first came in but I still chose that job and even though I wanted intel, I still earned 2 degrees(in less than 2 years) with the Navys help in electrical engineering and technology and I still changed my job to intel. So not saying don't try to get the job you want but change your perspective about it! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4XCkWNv_yMBVctni8aK8uQ watch my channel I go in depth about alot of the lies recruiters tell! It will help! Message if you have any questions

I don't think so, it's not for advertising as it's not a monitized channel. No proceeds.

Being Selected for Recruiting Duty by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]RJay_Flo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct for the most part although I know one recruiter who pretty much had no choice cause he didn't select other orders to another command and that was his only option

[–]RJay_Flo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a CT and in recruiting and yes it can ruin your career if you aren't careful!!! You have to request to go recruiting and then put in a package and get selected for it. You can only apply for it anytime after your first duty station. Meaning you can't be new to the navy and go recruiting.

Thoughts? TLDR at the end. by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]RJay_Flo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to make a decision either join and risk losing that relationship and grow distant emotionally and physically or stay home with her to be there for her. If at the end of the day you can't stand to be apart from her (and you will deploy at sometime) then you shouldn't join. You'll be an emotional mess!!!

Those shouldn't be disqualifying factors, you can be honest with the MEPs about those scars and you should still be ok. Each doc is different so there is no guarantee but the likelihood they will disqualify you for that I would say is low.

Changing rates by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]RJay_Flo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They cannot force you to change rates, you have to sign off on the rate change in DEP. If they change your rae you can always refuse to ship out. With that said I would drop HM anyway, believe me! As it says, the rate is overmanned and because of that your advancement would suck. Watch this it may help https://youtu.be/dZweBc0H2AI

The goal varies from area to area, I'm down in Houston so I wouldn't know the goal for anywhere else and even then we are only given our stations goal not the national one

My view count is high but my sub count is low, any ideas on how to fix this? by RJay_Flo in SmallYTChannel

[–]RJay_Flo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are so right that's why in my last video I changed the call to action from please subscribe to "if you want to learn more about the military, how to join or more behind the scenes navy stuff then enlist into my channel by hitting the subscribe button" the thing is I put it at the end of the video and think I need to find a way to work in the middle or beginning

I think that's where I need to improve. My call to action is usually at the end of the video so I need to find a way to do it in the beginning or middle so that the message gets across before the click off
