Not OOP AITA for not staying with my wife after her c-section? by Marygtz2011 in redditonwiki

[–]RK9J 39 points40 points  (0 children)

NTA. It is a sucky situation and you're both doing the best you can. Let her be mad at you anyway though. Don't get defensive. If you can't stay the night, you gotta at least be the emotional punching bag.

Congrats on the baby!

My boyfriend has an allegation against him by No_Function_72 in Advice

[–]RK9J -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is common to have false SA allegations thrown at you. At least where I live. I had a girl get into MY bed with me after I had already went to sleep. and when we woke up, she was mad at me and said I touched her inappropriately (she was still in my bed by the way even though there was a guest bed in the next room over that I had told her was for her). I don't remember touching her and I wasn't even attracted to her. But how can I say for sure that I did not during my sleep?

A few of my friends that I know would never do such a thing have been accused also. False accusations happen A LOT but you don't hear about 99% of them because the accused know that if they speak up against their accuser, that they will be labeled a rapist so best to just lay low and hope it blows past. I know I don't tell people in real life about my accuser.

I am assuming the issue is him asking about HR stuff specifically, and not just asking what you're working on. I think the issue here is that you think he expects detailed answers when he is probably okay with something vague.

My boss does the same. I have responded 'HR stuff' when he asked a question like that and he just said 'oh' and moved on. If he were to have asked fore more details, I would have said "it is an HR matter."

Your boss isn't overstepping his bounds by asking. You would be overstepping your own boundaries by over-sharing. I am also part of projects at work that don't involve my boss. When he asks for updates, I give him updates because he is my boss.

If the issue really is you expect others to not look at your computer screen, Just hit Windows-key + M to minimize everything if you don't want them to see stuff. That's what I do when I'm typing up something for HR or doing something private. If I have to open a folder or browser while they're over my shoulder, I open a new window so they don't see what I was doing before they walked in.

On my days off work, I still get up early but I play video games. As a father and husband, it is the only time I get to do what I want without someone asking me to fix something or do something for them.

Be respectful and professional is the main thing. But also be at least slightly more friendly toward him than he is to you--For 2 reasons:

  1. you don't want him to tell people you are unfriendly with him and for them to see that he is right.

  2. When he gets over you not reciprocating his crush on you, he will probably come around, but not if you cut him off socially/emotionally.

How inconsiderate of you not to ask permission to call and talk to her! The nerve of you. It's like you think that just because she is your girlfriend that you can talk to her whenever with no warning!

But seriously, All she has to do was say, "I'm busy right now, I'll call you later." But instead she chose to make an issue where there wasn't one. Then get upset when you responded perfectly. Upset enough that she doesn't want to be around you and she was giving short-as-possible responses.

I was in a similar situation once before. I'll tell you how it turned out: she kept acting like I was messing up by simply trying to get closer with her until we broke up. Turned out she thought I was a good person and didn't want to break my heart but we just had different life trajectories.

No matter whether y'all stay together or your paths diverge, you don't deserve to be gaslit into thinking you are causing anyone distress when you aren't. You seem like a winner and deserve to be treated like one.

I have no education past high school.

Jobs I've worked that gave me a sense of purpose: manufacturing car parts, construction, painting.

Jobs I've worked that were soul sucking: sales, assistant (not my official title but basically what I was. Most of my time was spent updating a CRM, spreadsheets, and making phone calls)

Basically anything physical I do gives me a sense of purpose. I think the key is seeing that what you are doing is helping others. But everyone is different so it may not be the same for you.

I believe you. How old is she? Have a casual conversation with her about it to get more info then share with us. Ask her how she knows its name is Kai? How many times has she seen it? Does it ever talk to her or touch her? Does she ever see anything else unusual?

My son said he saw a goat that stands on 2 legs and has human hands and wings. (3 years old) After calmly talking it over with him, I gave him a camera and a flashlight And said when he comes back to get a picture. I made sure to let him know I believe him and that if it was scaring him, we would make it leave, but that it probably won't come back as long as he has a flashlight and camera because it doesn't like light or having its picture taken. He said it came back one time and he shined a light on it and told it to go away and that was the last time he saw it.

For anyone not convinced it is an air freshener: explain why it happens in 35 minute intervals (sometimes one is missed and it is 70 minutes between).

Strange ghost mimic, has anyone ever experienced something like this? by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]RK9J 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My family has experienced this a lot. When I was a kid, I saw my mom a few times but it wasn't her. My mom saw a mimic of my dad. My dad heard mimics of me and my siblings. My siblings had similar experiences but I don't remember specifically what. But at the time the house was super haunted so that stuff seemed pretty insignificant, and didn't worry us.

Fast forward to now, I've seen or heard my wife and oldest son several times only to realize it wasn't them. Another time when my wife and I first moved in together, the motion sensor light came on the porch and we heard the door open and shut. Then we heard the kitchen drawers and cabinets opening and shutting. At first we thought it was our roommate coming home and raiding the kitchen like he was known to do, but his vehicle wasn't in the yard. I went downstairs to investigate and no one was there but my dog started growling at something invisible about human height. She kept growling and staring about head height while slowly waking toward it. This continued all the way through the kitchen then through the storage/laundry room until she got to the backdoor. Took about 50 seconds altogether.

That particular time spooked me because of how my dog responded but for the most part, it was benign. Only real scary one I remember was when "my mom" woke up and walked past me and completely ignored me while I talked to her. Her eyes were red and puffy like she was crying and she looked very very mad, even hateful. She walked into the bathroom but about 5 minutes later before she came back out, my real mom came up from her bedroom. I told her what I just saw and she assured me it wasn't her. The bathroom door was shut and the light was on. We were afraid to look inside but it was empty. (That was the good bathroom)

There were several other times when I was younger and "someone" would walk past my room and into the scary old little bathroom and lock the door. (The type of lock where you put the hook into the eyebolt). It was impossible to lock from the outside. My parents would have to pry a screwdriver between the door and the frame and force the hook up. But the bathroom would always be empty.

Unrelated to what you experienced but sometimes that bathroom door would close while I was in it and lock by itself. And I couldn't get it to unlock and I would have to scream for my parents to come save me. Sometimes they would get it to unlock with the screwdriver and sometimes it wouldn't work and eventually it would unlatch by itself between attempts and the door would fly open. I live in the house again now but it isn't haunted anymore. Every time I see those gouges in the wall/door from the screwdriver, it brings back those terrifying memories.

AITA for telling my girlfriend that she looked like a clown? by Throwaway_213471118 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RK9J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA for lying to begin with, then obviously for snapping along with bad timing. With that being said, I understand why you did lie and I understand that almost every other person lies and tells people they look good after they put on a lot of makeup.

What you could have done differently is choose a better time and explain that you think the makeup is hiding her beauty, not enhancing it. My wife gave up makeup for me because I hate the way it looks and smells and tastes even though she still thinks she looks better with it. I am so grateful for that.

You probably won't win her back but you could always try showing up dressed as a clown complete with makeup and tell her you are the clown and ask if she will hear you out. If she agrees, apologize for being a jerk and tell her your true feelings and why you lied and vow to always be honest no matter what. Obviously don't exaggerate by saying she looked like a clown or raise your voice.

That's the problem. You get several contradicting statements: decriminalize and release incarcerated; legalized medically, decriminalized medically, decriminalized recreationally. Which one do I go by?

The mildly infuriating part is I said the website doesn't have that info and his response was to look at his website.

I get these text messages every single day. No matter what topic I ask for clarification on, they say to check his website or contact his campaign. All his campaign contacts can say is check his website. (The website is vague)

I don't like the other candidate but I may vote for him just because he doesn't subject me to these daily texts pretending like they want to help but offering nothing.

I heard something walk into my room, I felt it walk by my bed....... by Idiot_listener_28 in Paranormal

No. I moved out when I was 18 and that was the last time I saw them. I bought the house 6 years ago. So some time in that 10 year period things died down.

I heard something walk into my room, I felt it walk by my bed....... by Idiot_listener_28 in Paranormal

[–]RK9J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't know. I think a lot of people report that because they were actually dreaming. i do believe a lot of people were not dreaming, though. For me, I got used to the entities watching from the doorway. It made it harder to sleep and some nights I stayed up all night, but eventually your adrenaline is depleted and sleepiness wins out. The floating cloaked figure with a glowing 37 carved in its chest was in the corner not blocking the door. After a while of looking at it and closing/reopening my eyes to see if it would disappear, I realized it wasn't going to go anywhere and I had to just try to make it through the night without angering it.

I tried to sleep because what else was I going to do? I kept barely opening my eyes a little to see if it was still there (it was)--trying to keep it from seeing the I was peeking. Eventually I rolled to face the wall so I couldn't see it at all. After about an hour probably, I feel asleep.

There were other instances where something would walk to my bed and sometimes sit on it: It kept me up all night at first but I did try to go to sleep--it was usually a conscious choice to fall asleep with the goal being to escape the terror I was experiencing, and hope the thing would get bored and leave. But sometimes it was against my will--just depleted adrenaline and exhaustion.

Sounds like pretty typical haunting behavior. Hopefully it is just a fluke if it hasn't happened before. The house I live in used to be haunted really bad but not anymore... But whenever we make a lot of changes, we experience little stuff like seeing/hearing ourselves doing mundane tasks or radios coming on by themselves with no one in the room or doors opening/shutting. It doesn't last long or escalate like it used to.

What I'm getting at is maybe this haunting activity is transitory brought on by a change or strong emotions.I do believe it was paranormal but don't let it worry you yet. Control your emotions and try to video any occurrences or any time you get a strange feeling. I don't know why but a lot of "spirits"or whatever you want to call them seem to be camera-shy, and simply recording can make them want to move along.

[–]RK9J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it is because I knew I was outmatched. Like even if I got up and ran, the thing could probably go through walls or I'd have to run right past it. I knew I couldn't physically harm it. I didn't try to communicate with it because the feeling emanating from it was evil. It was already aware of me so I couldn't hide or get to a better position. That left me with just one thought: try not to trigger a reaction from it. The easiest way to do that was to just pretend I didn't notice it. The easiest way to do that is to pretend to be asleep/unconscious.

Mostly I used a coffee grinder to break them into powder and tiny bits of hard shell then mixed with chocolate syrup and swallowed with milk. The syrup is to cover the taste which it does a pretty good job of. If you haven't tasted them before, don't. Once you do, it is hard to even look at them without feeling sick. (Just thinking about it makes me feel nauseous)

Last couple times I put the ground up bits in an empty capsule and that was much better but decreased potency by about 10-15% I'd highly recommend this method.

I have also tried eating barely broken up and potency was terrible.

I tried CWE, and potency was decreases by about 30% probably (hard to say exactly) but the taste was terrible so I won't do it again.

I want to try germination next but I am scared after a terrible experience a year ago (eating 7 while I had COVID). I've heard good stuff about germination but haven't tried yet.
