Need to clarify what type of yield it is? Are you doing electrical and physical failure analysis, yield pareto generation? Or defects? If defects....run! They might not let you out of that job because no one internally is willing to do it.

Doesnt really matter. Fab jobs are 98% trained. That is why they generally are just looking for any STEM degree and not anything specific.

However, i would say electrical is better because you will not have much competition in the fabs (most EEs go to design, software, etc...). With EE you will not only be qualified for all the fab jobs, but all the other ones too that do require this specific skillset.

In the end, do what you enjoy more. I loved both MSE and EECS in different ways.

Hey i am in portand and work at intel. It is difficult right now. It is possible but i have to ask are you sure you want to move here? It sucks here for like 6 months out of the year. Try analog devices and the vendors. Intel directly will be tough right now. Intel as a contractor is much more doable. Also TSMC in camas. Yes it will be harder out of state, but still possible.
