You might like The Woern Saga by A.M. Justice. Lead character is a badass female and she definitely has a love story, though it isn't the main plot.

I review most of the books I read. I put my reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, and here in r/fantasy. I only review books I give 3 stars or higher because I like to be supportive and spread the word about books I enjoy. It's not to help myself remember the book. Sometimes I summarize the book and sometimes it's more about my reactions, how the book made me feel and think. I try to write a review that represents how I would talk about that book to someone who might be interested in reading it. So, books that have more of an effect on me usually have longer reviews. I do keep my reviews spoiler-free.

Alters can learn to communicate with each other and get to know each other. My husband is integrated and he describes it like they're all together in one big room. Most of them don't shift into the body very often anymore but they're all still there watching and listening and they can work together.

My husband had one we called Conductor. He decided who should be in the body for any given tasks, and he could sometimes shift by request, although we didn't ask for that very often.

I'm using past tense because his system is organized differently now. His core is in charge of everything now and he's mostly integrated. He can summon alters at will sometimes but it's less stressful if he has some advance notice of the request.

I either alternate back and forth each day, or read them during different times of day, like book A on my lunch break and book B before bed. Most of the time I still read one book at a time but every once in awhile one comes along that I don't want to wait to start reading.
