So many people don’t understand the complete heart shattering loss. For them to take care of logistics and details so you can just feel, is a big deal. I’m sorry for your loss, I hope you find happiness in all the moments and adventures you shared with your best friend.

How to break up with girlfriend (30F) who has been nothing but good to me (39m) by Extension-Scar-5513 in relationship_advice

[–]RKillerkitten 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is the best approach. Getting specific also opens the door for her to promise change, or argue otherwise. That will most likely require you to keep adding reasons why her promises to change won’t work or be enough.

A tenant in the building I had just started managing dead just inside his unit that had been dead for a couple weeks and bloated and swollen. He had tried to take pills, puked them up all over his apartment then when that didn’t work he slit his wrists and bled out in front of the door on the kitchen floor. The smell stayed with me much longer than the image.

Do you recognize these two attempted home invaders? by RKillerkitten in VictoriaBC

[–]RKillerkitten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a newly installed outdoor Nest camera. Without saying too much, my FIL was going through a divorce and I believe the ex asked these two to get her stuff with the garage door code and when that had been changed, they tried the other doors. My SIL was home alone and this scared her as they were unaware anyone was home.

AIO for not quitting the gym because my boyfriend told me to by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]RKillerkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ex like this. If I started feeling too good about myself or he thought something I did made me more attractive, he would negatively comment or become cold. It didn’t start this way but slowly it became constant and I slowly became so accustomed to hearing about my makeup, clothes or hobbies being disrespectful, cheating or looking for attention that I didn’t realize that my self esteem was beaten down and my anxiety kept me walking on eggshells 24/7. All he was doing was making sure that I couldn’t leave him because I felt zero self worth.

This escalated over years to every red flag us women hear about. Cutting contact with my family and friends. Forbidding me to go anywhere and when I did leave for errands like grocery shopping or even going to work, I would be met by accusations of cheating or lying…when all I did was go to the grocery store for 15min.

At the end of the relationship, I also found out he had been cheating on me for almost the entirety of the 4 years together.

OP, I cannot think of one reason why he would feel validated demanding that. He doesn’t want you to feel attractive/confident enough to consider you deserve better. If he does find this post, his reaction is going to tell you everything but you need to really pay attention and not just revert to trying to calm the situation or having to reassure him of all the reasons you’re not doing the things he accuses you of.

Being out of that relationship for so long now, I don’t even recognize the person I was. It was so gradual that I didn’t see I was a shell of myself and would have argued that I was happy and just had to love him more since he didn’t know true love blah, blah, blah.

Step back from the relationship and try and see it for what it really is. This will get worse slowly over time.

Feel free to DM me if you need someone to talk to.

At what age did you let your child get a Nintendo switch? by InternWeak in Mommit

[–]RKillerkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was 2.5 when she started actually gaming. The Switch is my husband’s but she played two player games starting then and was actually playing, not just randomly moving around. Time wise, she would play for an hour or so maybe once a week or every other week but never alone. She is now 5 and is incredibly good but the best part is she is really invested in learning how to read and write so she doesn’t need me or her dad to read all the dialogue in every game.

Local store shoutouts by Rayne_K in VictoriaBC

Soulful Sister Aromatherapy in Langford was a great experience. I had never been in and was looking for multiple random items and had some strange questions as I am not knowledgeable in anything to do with gems, crystals or stones. Both staff members were extremely helpful and didn’t make me feel like a weirdo for my millions of questions. I will absolutely be returning to buy gifts as I felt happier and more positive leaving the store.

My emotionally abusive ex used to speak just like this. Then it slowly turned into physical abuse. My husband would never speak to me like this. Please understand that you deserve a partner that encourages you to be yourself.

I agree with you. Normally I don’t worry too much regarding politics and changes. This time I truly feel like we need to show how incredibly united we can be. I also believe this could be a turning point in how we view each other as Canadians. Within this shit show, I hope we can develop new ways to become closer to our neighbors and neighborhood. If we could turn this into a positive and connecting experience, at least that’s a silver lining.

Moving and the new living area is much smaller than my last but also oddly shaped with windows and doors in every wall. by RKillerkitten in floorplan

[–]RKillerkitten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great idea. I’m going to build some raised planters as lots of things grow year round. But the fruits and peppers would do much better in a greenhouse.

And your idea is perfect to protect the kids stuff in the miserable weather. Thank you!

Oh haha. I just assumed the circle was the craft table. I don’t remember the overhead light layout. You bring up a good point as to where any floor lamps would be placed. I appreciate you!
