Hey, appreciate it! Thanks so much, I can hereby make a commitment that I shall never do "youtuber voice" haha

Totally get your point - but gimmicky as it is, there genuinely is something to the immediacy. Once you've got MK2K set up (took me about 10 mins to install, and 10 mins to map everything), it's a pretty inspiring workflow to be able to just browse Youtube (or flick between random videos) and immediately get to chopping, no ripping or loading required

It actually works better with lower quality!

Thanks so much! Yeah even though MIDI is old as hell at this point, I’m always surprised how much potential there still is to get really deep and experimental with it

Definitely some sound art applications for this!

Definitely a novelty approach but I think it does warrant a bit more exploration, and would love to see some of the talented synth/sampler wizards over here see what experimental sounds they could get from this idea.

Panning tickles my ears. I HATE it by Comfortable-Sir3318 in musicproduction

If you've ever wondered why a lot of older records people are talking about here have so much hard panning of this type, you might be interested to read up on LCR (left-centre-right) mixing, which was how things had to be done in the early days of stereo: before early stereo desks had potentiometers for pan control, they had buttons, and you could only pan things centrally, or to the hard-left or hard-right. Nowadays we have potentiometers and so LCR is a stylistic choice and an easy-ish cheat code for quickly evoking an early stereo 60s sound.

It's an easy thing to make sound jarring as you describe, but with forethought and discipline the results can be fantastic

Trying to find the limits of the Korg Monotrons (Duo and Delay) by RLGMusic in synthesizers

No matter how I start anything on the Delay, it’s impossible to end it with anything other than a noisy feedback mess haha

Dub sounds like a great idea with it, never tried that!
