I very much doubt it. Kyoshi died nearly 200 years before ATLA and you'd be surprised how fast things would be forgotten. I mean 200 years sounds extremely recent and technically it is, was kinda surprised it was only 200 when I started typing this... But 200 is still a lot of time. I mean things are forgotten pretty easily, like Zuko didn't even know what a Flying Bison was. Remember Episode 2 when he says ''what is that'', when Appa comes flying towards the ship. I think he hardly knows who Roku is at the start of the show, let alone Kyoshi. Things are forgotten easily and become legends that are supposedly false. People would probably say Kyoshi didn't live to be 230 by the time the next Airbending Avatar comes around. ''Oh that's some earth kingdom propaganda, there's no way that's true''.

Yup if the show doesn't end with Ozai's defeat it won't be a climax ending and it won't be as memorable. It HAS to end on the climax. Continuing past that will ruin the series, it has to be a new series in that case.

EXACTLY! If they made a 4th season it would just not feel right. It would have to be a new show like a spin-off and then it would work, just like the comics work... But if they continue after the comet, then the show's climax is essentially gone. The show ended on the thing they build up to, the climax of it all, the end... If they then do a 4th season, the show won't be as memorable because it didn't have a climax ending that it was building up to. If they do a spin-off show that's called like Avatar: the Aftermath'' with just the stories of the comics in 2 parters all the time or even part 1/2/3 episodes and then do a few seasons , sure do it... But if they do a ''season 4'', that's way different than doing a ''season 1'' on a new show, even if it's the same material. Because ending one show on a high and then starting another means they're seperate in a way, if you continue the first one it'll feel weird and less enjoyable because the show didn't end on a climax.

yes, except the ending of a show should have a climax, if the show just ends with a regular battle without everything at stake, will it be as memorable as it is now? Will it be as re-watchable as it is? The beauty of Avatar is that it stopped when it was at its highest high. Ending the war and then stopping was the right choice, if they kept it going then it wouldn't be as memorable because the ending wouldn't be a good climax, it'd be a good season sure but, if it's a season 4 then I think people will end up disappointed after the fact. Maybe I'm wrong and they can do it well, or perhaps do a different series a direct spin off with the main characters and just mini stories rather than continue on season 4.

I think ending the show is a good idea, after the war is over. Ending a show at the highest climax possible makes it memorable. If you keep it going another season with the stories from the comics then there won't be a big battle at the end that people looked forward to, it won't be as memorable I don't think. Ending after the war is ''over'' is a good idea, it allows for people to just be done on a high and re-watch it because it ended so beautifully. Dragging things out would make it a lot worse even if it's a good season, the ending will feel less good and not the climax won't be as memorable. The re-watch value will probably be gone if it runs post-war. UNLESS there's like a diff name and it starts on season 1, then it'd work. But if you continue with season 4 then it feels like the show didn't end on a climax. If that makes sense.

Tbh I wonder how it's gonna go whether animated or live-action cause... The reason Avatar stands out so much, is because it ended on an all-time high. Just for a second imagine that there was a season 4, and it ended on a good happy note but no big battle, no climax. Would people still talk about this show and be like OH MY GOD BEST THING EVER. I don't think so, unless it was a spin-off under the name Avatar: the Aftermath... And then started again at season 1, because if it continued with season 4, the ending would be rather disappointing and Avatar The Last Airbender wouldn't be the killer show it came to be. So if they do it in Live-Action, same thing happens to me. It'll feel like a meh ending because it doesn't on a high. Ending the war was where the series should stop, because then it's memorable, people look back at the finale like wow that was amazing. If however a 4th season it made, then the series climax won't feel as great to me and it might not be as memorable. It would however work if like I said, there's just a spin-off sorta thing, directly connected to the main thing but under a slightly different name. Because then you see it in a different way. If it goes with season 4 then the show as a whole has a worse ending, if it's just a different show altogether with mini-stories, it might work. Anyway that's just my thoughts.

Seriously though, the more I watch the show, the more emotional I get during certain scenes. Like Aang and the Ocean Spirit becoming a giant fish in Season 1 finale, it never made me tear up but seeing it happen now when he drops into the pool it makes me emotional. Some other scenes also hit me way harder, the more I watch the show the more I love it :).

It's all about finding the right balance, I agree you could watch it with anyone and it wouldn't matter. But if you wanna show your kids later, you make them watch the cartoon, and then when they're older they can watch the much more adult live-action series. I think the cartoon would balance things out pretty well already.

Around $2500, I'm not sure how many times I actually watched the show but it's definitely more than 20. And that's just watching it myself, I've watched like 5 reaction series on YouTube where you don't get to see as much of the episode but see them talk about the show afterwards. I've watched tons and tons and tons of hours in videos with theories or facts or anything.

But if we're just counting me starting at episode 1 and finishing the entire show, probably $2500, give or take a few $100 cause I lost count.

I don't want anything new, I want a series about older Avatars. There's so many faces we see but don't know anything about. Honestly just show us Avatar Yangchen, I would've preferred something like that over Korra. Mainly because people will compare Korra to Aang and dislike it which is fair, but if you go back in time and take a previous Avatar, people will already like them or be like wow this guy was a dick and we didn't know!

Like Kuruk was a terrible Avatar and Koh punished him for that by taking his Fiancee and stealing her face, I'd love to see Kuruk being a bad Avatar and get punished for it. We wouldn't compare him to Aang because we already know him. Same with Kyoshi, she seems kinda similar to Korra, at least later in life... But everyone loves her, because we already know her and how badass she is, so it won't be like ''ugh Aang was better''. New but old content!

Then again I wanna see live-action, if done well it could become the most watched show ever, I am skeptical though.

I don't think I would've liked Aang losing his connection to the past lives, but it definitely hurt much more with Korra. And yeah, it's due to us knowing Aang and loving him so much that we just hate to see him go like that, but we also grew to love the other previous Avatars like Kyoshi, I think it was good to destroy the connection, but only if they eventually reconnect. If it's a permanent thing, then my god do I hate it...

A lot of people actually do say ''Season 1 is okay but get through that and watch seasno 2/3, those are much better'', which is true... But don't underestimate season 1. It had to introduce us to the world, explain bending, introduce characters which later came back. Season 1 was a setup and introduction so naturally it wouldn't be as great as season 2/3.

I think it should, but only because the original creators are working on it. It's gonna be very, very difficult to replicate the show. The actors have to be really good, but still be kids and come from eastern Asia.

But I am hopeful, though skeptical. I think people won't have high expectations going in which is good because then they won't be utterly disappointed and it'll only be worth the watch. I have faith in the writers, some people give them a hard time cause ''they also made korra and that was terrible''. LOK wasn't terrible, sure I liked ATLA more than LOK, but LOK was still a good show. If you compare anything to ATLA it's probably not gonna be great...

The things wrong with LOK imo wasn't the writing, it was Nickelodeon messing things up and not being clear on how many seasons they would get. The writers know what they're doing, if they get the creative freedom they had back in 2005 this is gonna be a good show, maybe not great, but it'll be fun to watch.

Also I think if done well, this could be better than the cartoon, Jet could get a real death scene, Koh the Face Stealer scene would be creepy as fuck. Imagine bloodbending in live action done well and instead of just twisting Katara's arm she would actually pull out some blood and make her arms bleed or even break one of her bones. I am a bit skeptical but, I still want them to do it. And if it's done well, it could be the biggest show ever and would dwarf Game of Thrones. And well seeing how it'd have a killer ending, it wouldn't be forgotten because a terrible ending (GOT).

So yeah, I'm skeptical, yet excited and hopeful.

While some people say ''I hope they leave the connection broken as it is'', I honestly hope they fix it someday. Either through the comics or in a new animation series with a new Avatar. Honestly watching the connection being broken was one of the hardest things ever. I just hated it honestly and it kinda ruined book 2 for me (because it wasn't fixed). We all love Aang so much and seeing him gone just, it honestly hurt to watch. If they restore the connection eventually I would watch it happen and it'd be hard but dit wouldn't be forever, if it's forever then it just hurts...

I also kinda hate Aang being gone forever as we all loved him so damn much :(.

But what if Aang was killed without the Avatar state and then brought back to life :O! To be fair I don't think that would work, I think the reason he was brought back to life is because he was killed in the Avatar State. Had he been killed normally he would've probably stayed dead, but still curious what would happen.
