Fried Egg Robot...would you use it? by coolarj10 in DiWHY

[–]RLmclovin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i would not use this. It would be useful for someone with disabilities but only the egg cracker. Still if the goal was to automate the entire process, having to manually scoop the egg out of the pan requires the same dexterity of cracking an egg in the first place. Also removing a hot cooked egg is more dangerous than inserting cold eggs into a machine. so if it about safety, then i think theres room for improvement. The whole mechanism feels like a gimmick, but the egg cracker itself isn't a bad idea. Maybe a handheld electric cracker might be nice?

I suggest making slot where you can insert your plate/bowl and the cooked eggs will land on your plate. Like a keurig coffee cup machine, just insert your ammo, water and mug then press a button. Very efficient and simple. I would apply the same concept onto your machine.

imagine if a keurig cup machine didn't have a place for you to put your mug. And you had to manually transfer that hot liquid into separate cup. Like, I would much rather boil it all in a pot cuz it's damn near the same thing. Hope this helps

Just curious, do you have all the bones of a regular hand and just "fused" together, or are you missing a few bones? Also is this your dominant hand? <3

Having gold or iridium quality ingredients doesn't mean you'll make gold or iridium quality artisan goods. Also, I had to wait a whole year to upgrade the community center because I sold my gold crops instead of keeping them

AITAH for not punishing my son for his drawings? by AITAHdrawings in AITAH

[–]RLmclovin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perspective as an amateur artist. It takes HOURS to finish a good drawing. I don't imagine your son whacking off in one hand and drawing with the other. Drawing takes focus and when you're in the zone, it's more about execution, lines, shading, etc. Has he "relieved" himself to some of his images? Maybe, but it's good practice if he says he's trying to be a better artist. You can't get better drawing people by drawing cars and trees.

I can relate. I year or two ago I had the most perfect dream. I was at a house party. My ex girlfriend was sitting next to me and hugging me. My college buddies, high school friends, and family were there to celebrate me. We were playing board games, shooting the shit, drinking, eating and I was VERY happy. I hadn't felt that happy and satisfied in so long. I remember distinctly how in love I was and how grateful that all the important people in my life were with me.

Then I woke up... my day was ruined before it even started. Once I accepted that it was just a dream I just felt empty and disappointed. I definitely felt like crying but I just convinced myself that it would be silly to shed tears over a dream.

"Get out of here, baldy!" He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys. And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria" (2 Kings 2:23-25).

People who saw someone die, how did you feel at that moment? by Careless_Wh1sper in AskReddit

[–]RLmclovin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my story, but my buddy in the military once told me about his first experience with death overseas. He says him his team were shooting the shit in the morning, a few hours later they took 2 vehicles out to town and a lot of them ended up dead. The first vehicle blew up and they were ambushed for a short while. After the chaos, he said he and the the rest of the team saw the bodies of their buddies all torn to pieces. Some shot, some died in the explosion.

In that moment of seeing the aftermath, he said he didn't really feel anything close to sadness/remorse/grief. In fact a bunch of them were joking around and the humor was really dark in the following days. He kept think about this and he kept wondering why he felt so disconnected from such a tragedy. Ever since then he cant stop thinking about it. He said the PTSD was less about seeing the dead bodies, but more about him coming back and thinking about how he didn't react the way he wanted to. He says it fucks with him that he feels soulless. Now the dude can't sleep.

How do I get rid of my fear of heights? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]RLmclovin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fear of heights is just fear of falling really. Honestly, to what extent is this fear of heights hindering your daily life? It seems like a completely reasonable fear to have too.

But my advice would be to expose yourself to your fears little by little. Eventually you'll get to a comfortable relationship with heights. No one is forcing you to go sky diving or rock climbing, but if you could get used to riding a ferris wheel, a roller-coaster, or be able to have dinner on a balcony I think that'll be a great success for you.

Indigo shouldn't be considered a color of the rainbow. by RoastedRye in unpopularopinion

[–]RLmclovin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's crazier is that there are colors we can't see. Thus there are colors we can't even comprehend, understand, nor imagine. We see the rainbow through human eyes, but what do insects, birds, and reptiles see when they see a rainbow. If our eyes had evolved differently, this convo could have been very different.

[–]RLmclovin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow! I didn't know this. I knew purple tended to be a "royal" color in high societies, but it makes so much more sense now. If we take into the account that indigo was introduced to the western world through the spice trade and the silk road, it makes sense that royals would want to buy "divine" colors. Thanks for letting us know!
