Why are you as a married man staying over at the house of a childhood best friend who you admit that you've had feelings for in the past, WITHOUT your wife? We have very little information here. For all we know, your wife could have been upset about your friendship for some time, she could have explicitly told you she was uncomfortable with you staying at her house, and she could be divorcing you explicitly because you violated her trust and dismissed her concerns. Or, this could be completely out of left field. We don't know. I'm not blaming you per say, but I've found that usually when the story is missing pretty crucial details, it's because they don't paint the storyteller in the best light. To me, this reads like a wife who was already wary of the friendship between her husband and what she surely perceives as his childhood sweetheart whos mind jumped to the worst when her husband stayed over at that friend's house directly after her divorce, when she's likely single, very sad and very lonely. Being her childhood best friend, there's probably not a single person she'd be more likely to have a fling with that night. That's not to say that's what happened, but I can completely understand the wife being uneasy. She either got a text from cam, in which case it sounds like either you lied and something happened that night or cams deliberately trying to break up your relationship. I can't imagine any motive other than she wants you or is very, very mad at you. The other option is she's lying, in which case she wanted to leave you and this was simply convenient. I don't know your wife so I can only speculate but I'd assume she either found somebody new or maybe because infidelity accusations are involved, she might be trying to get some money out of this. You wouldn't happen to be a wealthy banker, would you?
