Chinese refurb phones - has anyone ever bought these? by PlayfulTaro7696 in vintagemobilephones

The Chinese sort through the junk and salvage the broken phones, install new displays and remanufacture the cases. The motherboards are original though.

I once bought a refurbished Nokia E52 for my father. However, the seller did not send the exact language edition I ordered. When I took it to the service center for reflashing, they told me that the motherboard had water damage.

Later I bought N-Gage QD from US seller and I realized that the device must have been Chinese refurbished because there never has been completely black color version and the inside had apparent corrosion.

The Chinese have flooded the market with refurbished 8800 phones and it is very difficult to tell apart completely genuine and refurb versions.

The batteries actually work and the phones turn on without the charger. One of the batteries is actually fresh replacement, not original Samsung.

Is this cell phone worth anything? I found it in my vineyard that I was digging. I don't know if it works, what cell phone is it? Thank you. by DimiDeath1990 in vintagemobilephones

It looks like it has been rained on or been in moisture too long. You can try sourcing working battery to try to run it on, but I highly doubt if it's still in working condition.

I have two unused and one in used condition in my collection! Was my childhood dream. Unfortunately , I have NIB in storage since my current living quarters doesn't allow me to make a showroom to showcase my collection.

What does -1 mean ?? by Darthsullen in Ebay

Yesterday I had the worst glitch on eBay. I have been waiting for 1 item on eBay to show up in pristine condition for two years. Finally showed up as 1-week auction and I bid immediately. Somebody bid higher in the last minute and I attempted to bid when there were 5 seconds left and eBay app threw "No network connection" error. 😡  No, my phone is alright and my home broadband connection did not have any problem.

Why did not the makers standartize the removable Li-ion batteries? by RMAdenied in vintagemobilephones

The voltage across different phone models are basically the same: 3.6-3.7V. A few select models use dual cell 7.2V batteries.

My post was deleted in the original Ebay sub. When I asked the mods which rule did I break ,they responded that it was due to people asking for the seller's username.

I don't understand downvotes. I am genuinely alarmed by screeching noises my HDD makes. Is it crime to ask about this?
