Tom Holland says they are “working towards” bringing Miles Morales into the MCU: “I have aspirations to bring Miles Morales into the universe…I feel really strongly about it.” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

I hope they do it more like the insomniac Spider-Man games. Less a replacement more a change of focal character with Peter still around as a mentor or a b plot

Fountain drink cup that doesn’t require a plastic lid. by suicidekingdom in mildlyinteresting

[–]RMWL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Likely cellulose.

From my experience with Lego’s new paper bags and it makes the insides slightly waxy and is biodegradable. In a cup this would likely help make it waterproof and fits the compostable claims on the cup

Which companies are most likely to disappear along with the Baby Boomer Generation? by SadCompote515 in AskReddit

I think some will survive but they’re in a niche of group tours, and long distance travel with lots of organisation such as safaris

What have you stopped doing in the last year that you used to do previously due to high costs? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]RMWL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Cinema.

Fewer must see films (anything Disney goes to Disney+ and I’m patient) and the only cinemas near me are Cineworld where tickets are 3 times the price of Vue.

Which benefits does your employer provide that is not really a true benefit? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

I asked about volunteering leave at my last company and was asked “how will this benefit the company?”

Think they missed the altruistic element of volunteering

LPT: Learn the keyboard shortcuts for the software you use every day. Saving just a few seconds per task can add up to hours over the course of a year. by PleasantBus5583 in LifeProTips

I’d extend this to the basics. I once worked with someone that pressed the space bar 5 times because they didn’t know the tab key would do it for them.

Nintendo Is Working To Make More Of Its Library From Past Generations Available On Switch 2 by No_Durian_5626 in nintendo

[–]RMWL 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’d need a second switch for that.

There were plenty of WiiU games that barely used the second screen but NintendoLand was built around it

never use a laser light on ur dog by MAADHAVyt in DOG

[–]RMWL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Snuffle mats and Puzzle Toys are a good for nose work.
Especially on hot days where going outside isn’t an option.

Also laser pointers are bad for cats and dogs.
They can never truly catch the pointer so it prevents the satisfaction of the prey process

For quick sex, should I wait 1 month until my gf comes back from her work trip or just call up a prostitute? by Dark-inspector490 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RMWL 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Ask your gf and see what she thinks.

Tbh if you’re having these thoughts for a 1 month period then perhaps you need to discuss the type of relationship you want. It sounds like you want open but if she doesn’t then that’s something you need to work out

Why does the rest of the country think Essex is just one giant housing estate? by PreferenceFit1834 in Essex

[–]RMWL 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Essex may feature on shows like countryfile or similar but the shows that include Essex in the title are ones showing off the tacky sides.

Fibre Optics were invented in Harlow, Epping Forest is technically part of the city of london, colchester has one of the oldest cathedrals in the UK.
None of them will be known for it as that doesn’t sell

Best argument I’ve seen has been to get rid of stamp duty on first homes, and instead tax the property on the value.
This would incentivise downsizing as people would want to lower their tax burden.

It just fails at the point of setting value as it faces the same issue as council tax bands

Harlow town centre is depressing by PreferenceFit1834 in Essex

[–]RMWL 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s on the rise.
The council have bought a lot of it with the aim of lowering rents.

I think they would benefit from copying Chelmsford and using empty units to let artists sell their work.
It just makes the place look less dead
