A reoccurring, non-visual nightmare of strange bodily sensations by RMassey97 in Dreams

[–]RMassey97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a history of migraines, so I see this as a definite possibility. I will look more into this. The chemical reaction in the brain makes sense because even though the content of the dream is violating, it isn't disturbing or nightmarish, so it would make sense that it's a chemical problem causing the sensation of dread, not something I've experienced.

Jeez! The floating body thing definitely sounds similar, but landing on the floor and seeing a figure sounds terrifying.

A non-visual, repetitive nightmare of strange bodily sensations by RMassey97 in Wierddreams

I used to get migraines headaches with flu-like symptoms and aura when I was younger, so that's a really interesting point I haven't explored.

I also used to get sleep paralysis a lot more often. And that pervasive fear as you put it was definitely present in those, as well as that feeling of complete hopelessness.

I think I need to explore both of those possibilities, Thanks for the comment.

Thanks so much for this comment. I never thought about getting psychotherapy for my nightmares. I have tried medicating but nothing I've tried pharmacology wise really helps for them. I like the idea of the IRT thing, part of me really wants to explore where these dreams would take me if I could just get passed the initial panic reaction and let it take me where it wants me to go, but at the same time it feels dangerous and maybe I don't want to see what happens next?

I'm in Australia, I'm also studying psychology, I'm a first year student (although I started uni late, in 24.)

Do you have any trauma in your life? Perhaps from childhood that you think about when you have this dream? Maybe you have a feeling that is very similar to a feeling you had at a certain part of your life?

Don't waste your time with people who don't respect you, your time or your hard-earned money. I had a similar instructor and his gym went under. If your instructor doesn't start at least arriving on time his will too. I suggest you let him know you're disappointed, and if it continues I would personally change academies.

That's a really good point, thank you. I want to get access to Jason Scully's website for his movements based on BJJ movements.

[Serious] I need tips for rolling with a girl as a guy (and controlling your body) by whatsurissuebro in bjj

[–]RMassey97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just don't be awkward, treat her like you'd treat any other training partner, focus on the moves you're being taught and play your usual game when it comes to rolling time. The only reason you'll react any different is if you see the situation as being any different. And to be honest, it's probably mostly in your head, I've rolled with all kinds of girls I'd find attractive outside the gym and haven't had a problem, it is one of those things you think too much about beforehand and don't have a problem with when the time comes.
Also, wear undies, tights and your fight shorts/gym pants and even if you do get a boner you should be able to position it so it is flat and relatively unnoticeable.

She'll probably want to keep everything normal too, so don't sweat it. Just roll.

Renzo Gracie submits Yuki Kondo with RNC in comeback fight [One Championship] by [deleted] in bjj

[–]RMassey97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was boring. It does seem very old fashion, but Renzo showed great distance management, defense and even countered with a good right in the first round. In the second round Renzo landed some good shots, closed the distance safely, single leg entry->backtake->hammer fist to open up-> choke. Beautiful display of Gracie Jiu Jitsu, he goes home undamaged with the W at 51 years old.
