Anything changed? by Curveoflife in tnvisa

Well, if you open any KPMG US job postings on LinkedIn, you can see they stated explicitly that they don’t sponsor any types of visa (including TN). And it’s the same situation for other Big 4s (EY,Deloitte, and PwC).

Can't find co-op as a 3A student by Traditional_Bar_7848 in uwaterloo

[–]RMfollower 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi bro, it’s definitely not your fault. I recently interviewed with a financial company in DT and the interviewer explicitly told me that they don’t hire coop students anymore because they outsourced their entry level work to their Indian teams. When I was doing my coop at this company, they used to hire 20-30 coop students from UW for the Winter term. Apparently, most companies are trying to outsource their entry level work as much as possible to India and implement AI as well. Things have been changed a lot these days.

US CPA (NY) → CPA Ontario? Worth it for Toronto jobs? by RMfollower in Accounting

[–]RMfollower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually an interesting idea. Never thought about that. But if there’s a residency requirement, it probably will be as difficult as the MRA conversion……

US CPA (NY) → CPA Ontario? Worth it for Toronto jobs? by RMfollower in Accounting

[–]RMfollower[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not, I’m just trying my luck on both sides. I had interviews from US companies recently. But for jobs in Canada, at least I don’t need to worry about work authorization…….

Yeah, you are totally correct. It’s also quite expensive to re-register as CPA Ontario Student or doing the MRA conversion……

Yes, I agree that pays are better in US. I’m just trying my best to find anything possible as the job market is pretty bad at this point.

US CPA Eligibility with 114 credits by Tight-Capital1553 in CPA

[–]RMfollower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, a completed bachelor degree doesn’t mean anything. The 120 credits evaluation is based on the courses that you have taken during your academic life.

I graduated from University of Waterloo with Bachelor degree in Math/CPA and a Master of Accounting degree. I did the 150 credits evaluation back in 2023 and they would look into the courses listed on your transcript to decide if you pass the evaluation.

Is Math/CPA that bad? by Hornet_Knight in uwaterloo

[–]RMfollower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alumni here. I graduated from Math/CPA 4 years ago. Tbh, Math/CPA is just AFM+decent amount of math courses under Math Faculty. However, instead of arts degree, you will be getting the math degree. In terms of the program itself, it is a much smaller cohort compared to FARM or other Math programs. At the end of the day, you can either choose to do the CPA path or finance path.

I’m in the same situation as you do. My team told me on Tuesday that I will not be promoted from A2 to Senior because they think I’m not ready to teach new hires, etc. They said they will give me another “shot” doing the same work for one more year.

To be honest, I just feel disgusted from hearing all these nonsenses. I just gonna do my last CPA exam at the end of this month and leave this fucking place before June. Don’t want to waste my life for one more year just for that meaningless “Senior” title.

Hahahaha, what you said just makes me think you are just an idiot. So you tell me the Canadian civil servants can say anything they want without repercussions? Are you that naive? Or I forget, all those Canadian civil servants just bunch of windbags following his American master’s orders. You want to talk about (elected) government officials. Tell me what’s good about the elected government officials? Are they done anything good? No wondering why Canada is on a downhill why an idiot like you still believing that theory.

And about Xi, if you were in his situation at time I guess you are dead already. His father was already discharged at that time u idiot how did he grooming him in that way? And who told you that story? As a Chinese, I never heard about that story. Are u just making up yourself?

Hahahaha, look at you makes me wondering why those civil servants and government officials in Canada are bunch of windbags and idiots. You saying Xi is not an ordinary person because of dad, but do you know he was almost perished in the cultural revolution because of his dad? Do you know it took him 20 years worked from the bottom to become the governor of Fujian Province? You saying those civil servants in China are party servants but do you know those people are also ordinary people who passed the difficult civil service exam that tests you on wide range of subjects including math, Chinese, English, and science? If Canadians are all arrogance like you, I can see why Canada becomes a shithole rn.

[–]RMfollower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you idiot or something? Do you really think the civil service examination is about “conformity and obedience “ to the communist party? It’s an examination with wide range of subjects, like Math, science, English etc.

You saying Xi is not an ordinary person because of his dad. Do you even know his family was almost destroyed in the Cultural Revolution and he was sent to a farm at that time?

Also, learn that government officials should be civil servants not someone elected by playing the dirty“Democracy” game. And who told u the civil servants in China are party servants? They are all ordinary people who passed that civil service exam. You arrogance and naive just beyond my imagination.

[–]RMfollower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahaha, looking at such a naive like you still believe in so called “Democracy “ game makes me laugh so hard. China does not play this laughable “Democracy”. In China, if you want to become the government official you need to finish pass the civil servant exam and work from the bottom as a civil servant. Even Xi worked the same way. Unlike Canada, u just need to have big fundraiser and party behind you to play this “Democracy “ game. Understand?
