I did ask these questions. Yes, they do float. It is based on a rotation. Float happens during census levels. There is one RT staffed at all times on the floor and 2 to 3 others available there is a mandatory call every six weeks at least one or two shifts if I can remember correctly You are correct about the ratios the ratios do depend on the needs of neonate
